I was just looking for something in my kitchen and came upon my stash of empty coffee bags. I had a moment of ‘why in the world are you saving these Melody?‘ I pulled the bags out and arranged them on my kitchen floor. These are all Starbucks coffee bags I saved for one reason or another – some of which just because the bag was pretty! I am going to regret doing this – please forgive my dirty kitchen floor! LOL
How many of these Starbucks coffees have you tried?

Sadly, I’ve only tried four of those (Christmas, Casi Cielo, Indivisible, and Kaui). Have some catching up to do!
I have tried less than half of those.
How sad is it that I’ve only tried three of those blends (Casi Cielo, Christmas, and Indivisible)? Of the remaining ones, the Sumatra Tapanuli, Sun-Dried Ethiopia Sidamo, and Bali Blend sound most intriguing to me. Have you sampled most of the Starbucks coffee blends, Melody?
I’ve had 3 of those.
just a few of those so far… the Sun-Dried Ethiopia Sidamo is my all-time favorite. I think I saved the laser cut black box or sleeve from that release, and a few others.
I also saved a copper tin that housed a pound bag of something from several years back. Likewise, I save the bags that have artwork that I find pleasing. Currently using an old Casi Cielo bag to hold my office Starbucks Ferench Roast beans that are bought in bulk and ground daily.
There are about 50 empty old bags, coffee bags, in a drawer in my studio. Some day I will do some sort of art project or photo project from the lot.

My God that floor is dirty!!!! LOL!
I have tried them all but the Bali…..
Nice collection, Melody. I’ve had the opportunity to sample all but two of those coffees. I’ve never had the Bali or the coffee from Seattle’s Best.
Haha I save my empty bean bags as well! I’ve tried the majority of them, and I think I’m missing Bali, Seattle’s Best, Ka’u and one of the Ethiopian ones.
Not really a coffee drinker but like the designs on the bags and am always looking at that. Melody why don’t you take the empty bags and frame them into a collage of sorts?
I saved my empty bags when I found out we were changing bags (years ago?) and I plan to one day do something with them!
Last year’s Christmas Blend was pretty yummy, nice rich taste and spicy aroma – just how I like it. My familty also enjoyed that coffee.
From this set I have also tasted Casi Cielo – unfortunately, not my favourite. However my very best fav is classic Espresso Roast – no need for any explaination, I think. 🙂
I love a lot of the African coffees hence the Harrar and Sidamo. The current Sun Dried Sidamo is wonderful! (Sold out in many stores near me.)
@Purple1 – The only reason these have not been framed is that framing is so expensive! I would have everything custom framed if I could. I have a number of Starbucks posters that I’d like to have framed. My friend Molly (whom I have mentioned before on this site) owns a frame shop – I love professional beautiful custom framing.
@Chgo – The Bali was a UK promo coffee in the spring of 2011. I think someone on Twitter sent it to me.
Wow, that is a lot. But I don’t see any Thanksgiving Blend?
@Amylla – I definitely buy Thanksgiving Blend every single year! I should have saved the bags! Though my kitchen would be pretty full of empty bags then! LOL
So far I’ve tried most of these coffees except for the international coffees like Bali, so far my favorite is Starbucks reserve oahu, probably because it was my first reserve coffee that I tried lol so exciting when one of my partners found a coffee from another country and I get excited that she is willing to share it with me and my other partners in my store
@Cecille – You have tried a lot of coffees then! I think the very first Reserve coffee (meaning actually branded as “Reserve” line for the Clover) was the Galapagos. How did you try the Oahu? Press?
I love all the replies in this thread – sorry that I’ve not replied to every one of them.
i’ve had all of them except the bali & the seattle’s best blend. melody, how would one go about obtaining the bali blend???
@Jocelyn – The Bali blend was a 2011 UK limited promo coffee. Someone on Twitter sent me a bag, and I took it to 7th and Pike and tried it there.

The Seattle’s Best Blend was unique – That was not too long after they switched to a number system, and they still were doing a few promo coffees – That “winter getaway” coffee was pretty good, but under the new business model for SBC, which is all drive-thru and very fun-beverage oriented (like a birthday cake latte), I doubt that SBC will ever have another amazing promo coffee.
My partners and I tried starbucks reserve Oahu with the coffee press and paired it with chocolate graham crackers. i personally thought it was smooth and light and even though the chocolate had a subtle taste, it really didn’t need a pairing and it was great on its own
I have tried most, but not all of them. I will only drink Dark roasted coffee. Where I live the reserve coffees are only available a the Clover store & there is only one where I live & I don’t go there often. Although I enjoy most of the reserves I’ve tried, I’m not sure they warrant the extra cost. I miss that Starbucks doesn’t have as many special coffees as often as they used to. I get a bit bored drinking the same small handful of coffees they offer in Dark Roast.
I also keep my bags. Especially the reserves and any specialty coffee. Mostly I do so as if they were photograph documentation of the tastings I’ve done. Plus they’re shiny. I don’t hoard much but when I do it’s coffee related.
Casi, Christmas, three Region, Tribute, Isla Flores, and last summer at Macys I bought a limited edition of a Starbucks blend. I’m going to save my empty bags now and send you a pick. I’m goig through a bag of Three Region now, but wanting some Kona.Oh, that limited edition cold cup got by me… BUT , I’ll be back in Nee Jersey tomorrow so I have 3 different locations to maybe snag one. Wish me luck!! Til next time
@Ethan Menendez – I am glad I am not alone!
@MonicaDillow – Did you get to the concept “inspired by” Starbucks in Macy’s? What was the limited edition coffee? Someday, I’d like to visit that store!
@bmommyx2 – I get what you are saying! The selection of coffees can feel pretty small if you are not at a Reserve Starbucks.
In your picture, I’ve tried all but the sbc–what a great looking bag!
I will admit that I have a veritable plethora of bags from the last 9+ years–all stuffed into 3 small handle bags awaiting their next deployment activity. I keep saying I want to do a scrapbook/coffee passport combination of some sort…
If I could only find the time!
@Jencita – I am totally impressed!
I’ll make this easy for you Melody – I’ve only tried two of these coffees – Casi Celo and Christmas Blend. I know about the Starbucks Reserve coffees but haven’t tried any, but I’ve never heard about some those other ones, like Individual Blend… I guess we don’t get many of these coffees in Canada. 🙁
