If you ever decide to visit the Starbucks at 1912 Pike Place, you’ll find that there is a lot of merchandise exclusive to that store. One of my favorite things is that they have a Starbucks card which is exclusive to their store! And, the 1912 Pike Place Starbucks offers a made-in-the-USA mug, which is produced by the same factory in Ohio that supplied the “Indivisible Mug” from just last year. In fact, I think that some people don’t realize that Starbucks helps sustain the American Mug and Stein factory by continuous orders for these special 1912 Pike Place mugs. Here’s the exclusive mug and card:
That card has $10 on it, by the way. You can enter to win one of those coffee mugs and that very card. I will cross my fingers for you! (Winner drawn at random.) Some of my readers already know that I have another blog, called MelodyEats.com – it’s essentially a fast food and quick dining restaurant review blog. I don’t want to sound tired of Starbucks, but I will say it’s refreshing to have a whole new topic to write about. I’m hoping that you will “like” MelodyEats.com. (That’s not a requirement though.) You do have to leave a comment below on this blog. I’d like to hear from you about your favorite fast food restaurant, whether that is Subway, Jimmy John’s, Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Panera, Qdoba, Taco Bell, Fatburger, Red Robin, or any other such dining establishment. Please tell me what’s your favorite thing to order. I think it’ll be fun to read about your favorite menu item, and it might give me some ideas about what to order for future MelodyEats.com blog articles. There are some conditions – you have to be talking about a chain in the comments. It cannot be a mom and pop shop with just a few locations. It needs to be chain with at least 100 locations in the United States.
In order to enter, you must be over eighteen. You must have an address within the United States. You must make your comment below before 8:00 p.m. PST on July 26, 2013, or before there are 150 comments below, whichever happens first. I’ll be totally honest here – I’ve never done a blog post where I haven’t had at least a half a dozen people attempt to enter, but not follow the rules. The most common mistake people make is that they send me an email rather than leaving a blog comment below. You really do have to follow the rules! Sorry! Leave a comment below about your favorite large fast food chain and what you like to order. (If I have not been clear, those are the two things that somehow have to be mentioned in your comments – a large chain and what you’ve ordered that you like.) You don’t even have to mention Starbucks! I hate to say this, but I will delete the comments below that do not fit the rules for this contest.
Wishing you the best of luck in winning this Starbucks card with $10 on it, and this wonderful coffee mug!
(Edit on July 24, 2013 – I’ve had a number of people leave comments (not approved) where they’re talking about small mom and pop businesses, and/or not mentioning what they like to order. I hate to not post such comments, but it wouldn’t be fair to those who did follow the rules. Mention a fast food chain with more than 100 locations. Tell me what you like to order.)
In case you’re curious, here’s the merchandise wall with this great mug on it:

Love the pork burrito bowls at Moe’s Southwest Grill. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options. The free chips and salsa always guarantee that I will not leave hungry.
My favorite fast food chain is Sonic. I always order tater tots with chili and cheese… it reminds me of my high school years when I ate that same meal for lunch daily for years. 🙂
(I collect Starbucks cards so if that sways you at all… I really want that card to add to my collection! Pick me, pick me!) 🙂
I don’t know why but I have a thing for Johnny Rockets. At my location they have a cheap jukebox which is always fun to use. The thing that brings me back though is the Bacon Cheese Fries and a Root beer Float. I mean everything else is pretty good but for me thats what stands out.
Taco Time is my favorite fast food/guilty pleasure! Favorite thing to order – Chicken Taco Salad Light with Sweet Potato Mexi-Fries. Yum!
Subway – meatball sub with cheese, spinach, onions, green peppers, and olives.
One of the best 100+ chain fast food restaurants, I’ve been to is “Smashburger.” I ordered the “Motor City” burger and it was delicious. It costs about $6 for only the burger, which is a little steep for fast food. However, you could tell it was quality. Note: Their chains have a special type of burger only sold at that particular area store. For example, their L.A. location the specialty burger is called “L.A.” Sadly, they haven’t opened a Washington State location yet!
I like subway’s roasted chicken sub. I think most fast food is pretty unhealthy
I like twist from dairy queen!
I like going to Subway. I get 6 inch ham sandwich on the jalapeno cheddar bread and load it up with veggies. Good stuff. I then take my sandwich next door to starbucks and enjoy it while taking advantage of my free tea refills. 🙂
I love chipotle! 2 soft beef tacos; you can’t go wrong. lol. 🙂
~jeanine
I love Chick-Fil-A. I get the original chicken sandwich and waffle fries.
My favorite fast food chain is Chick-fil-a… pretty much because they have the best fries and milkshakes ever!
I am so happy that Starbucks has continued to support this company and stocked up Pike Place with these amazing cups! I just wish I could order one online 🙁 Keep up the good work Melody 🙂
I also love fast-casual CHIPOTLE. Your food is freshly made, and not sitting in warming bins. (Like Starbucks, they are a socially-responsible company, and have an LEED restaurant.)
My favorite is a double-wrapped barbacoa burrito, no beans/fajita-style. I always order guacamole and chips. The guacamole is terrific, and constantly made all day. (I should buy stock, hehe.)
Thanks a lot, Melody.
oh man it depends where i am and what i am doing.
panera for salad and soup, like the strawberry one
starbucks for on the road chai tea and muffin
subway if i am really hungry – tuna or Italian
road trip? cracker barrel- grits, roasted apples and maybe honey muffins
Oh ya, and my favorite fast food chain is Dairy Queen, where else can you get a chicken strip basket with an ice cream sunday, all in one meal?
I’m trying desperately to throttle back from fast food (much healthier that way, I know), but I’m a fiend for Sonic. I get their SuperSonic breakfast burrito when I can get to one of the few Sonics near me. For my “tied for number one,” I don’t know if Chipotle counts as fast food, but a burrito bowl from them is my other “go-to” staple (half-and-half rice, chicken, black beans and veggies).
Does Whole Foods Burrito Bar count? I hope so because they are awesome. They are made to order, they even have gluten-free. You start by choosing your tortilla, type of rice, beans, meat, salsa and toppings. Easy, fast, nutritious, and yummy! 🙂
Hi! I love In N Out burger! I love to order just a regular cheeseburger and fries! Their food is fresh, and the choices are limited, which I love! Everything they do there is well done, and is a must have when I am on the west coast. I am from the Midwest and now I live in the South, but I get these cravings that can not be satisfied with the typical fast food places! 🙂
I’m a sucker for the Doritos Locos tacos from Taco Bell… I feel like a disgusting slob when I order them, but once in a while they really do hit the junk food spot! 🙂
I like Burger King for a quick pick-me-up when I’m running errands with the kids. The question to them as we pull up to the drive-thru is “Burger or chicken?” Quick, inexpensive protein is the goal. We like the Whopper Jr. or if it’s chicken, we go with the 50 pieces for $4.99. What a deal!
Wendy’s wins if we want a whole meal deal. The kids meal is perfect! Burger, fries or apples, drink AND Frosty! I order one for each of us, including myself. 🙂
My husband and I are hug chipotle fans – we share a burrito bowl and top it with lots of goodies (my favorite is the corn salsa, soooo yummy!!) and of course chips and guac (b/c we shared the bowl, so we’re good for calories, right?)
I’ll have to admit to a soft spot for In-N-Out. I get a Double Meat (double burger, no cheese): well done, mustard, onion, and pickles only. And fries well done. This makes their amazing fresh fries super crisp.
I like eating at Five Guys. We don’t have In-n-Out Burger near me. I am now hooked on a hot dog with relish, ketchup, mustard, pickles, a-1 sauce and bbq sauce. I sometimes get regular french fries.
Yay! Another give-away, and one that’s about something close to my heart… food!! I think my favorite fast casual restaurant is Noodles & Company. (I had to look up how many locations they have nationwide, and it’s 346 according to Wikipedia, 52 of which are franchised). I have several go-to dishes so it’s hard to pick a favorite. Tonight I had the Pasta Fresca with no tomatoes, sub mushrooms, extra mushrooms, and shrimp. Yum!
Currently we eat at Arby’s far more than I care to. I have an extremely picky 2 year old that adores Jr roast beef sandwiches and their broccoli. I usually go with a salad for myself although when they were b going the Reuben sandwich it was to pretty good.
Chipotle — I order their kid’s meals, which are surprisingly large and filling!
I know this is going to sound bad but I love McDonalds nuggets. I’ve tried nuggets at other places but they just don’t seem to be as tasty as McDonalds.
Can’t get enough of the veggie bowl from Chipotle. I order it with brown rice, extra black beans, fajita mix, frehsh salsa, medium salsa, and corn salsa, and then top it off with cheese, guac, and lettuce. It’s fresh, delicious, inexpensive, and fills the void!
my favorite fast food chain would have to be Cookout – I love their hamburgers, fries, and I always order an oreo milkshake! they are the best!
I love Chick-Fil-A. A spicy chicken sandwich with waffle fries is definitely my stranded-on-a-desert-island food.
Five Guys. I order the little hamburger with everything…don’t forget the regular-sized fry. I like how they post on the board where the fries are from that day…it varies. And the beef is 100%…no fillers.
I like Chipotle, their burrito bowls are perfect and fast.
My favorite fast food chain is Chik-Fil-A! I like to order their chicken minis from the breakfast menu and their amazing lemonade
I love Sonic drive-in. The bacon cheeseburger is my favorite. No frills, just good burger.
Maybe it’s because I live in Hawaii and I can’t get it anymore, but Taco Time is always my go to favorite when I’m visiting home. I get the same thing I’ve always gotten since I was a child, crisp beef burrito with mexi fries, ranch dipping sauce and a drink…and crustos as my dessert! I don’t think I’ve ever steered away from that my entire 38 year taco time eating existence. I have many fast food favorites and I wish Dicks or skippers or steamers qualified as one of them, but Taco time is a winner.
I love Five Guys–the little burger with everything but mayo. And fries!!!
Aside from my love for Starbucks, I enjoy dining at Panera. Not only is the atmosphere casual, but there is a welcoming ambiance about it too.
Drink-wise, I prefer their Superfruit Smoothie because of the vitamin C and the fat-free part of it. For an entree, I like the Roasted Turkey Artichoke because of its anti-biotic free turkey and the veggies. For a small dessert, the peanut-butter cookie is delightful.
Thanks Melody for creating this sweepstakes!
To expand on my Chipotle and burrito bowl comment… I love their pork, just the right spice and that fresh guacamole is the perfect topper to that book of rice and black bean goodness.
In-N-Out Burger: Two hamburgers (one for now, one for later 😉 ) and french fries
It’s primarily located in the West/Southwest region (most of which are in California), but both the food quality and price are outstanding. Check out their “Not-So-Secret Menu” for even more options.
Not sure if Chracker Barrel counts as fast food, since it is a sit down restaurant. (The chicken livers are my favorite.) So will have to go with Taco Time. A crisp meat or bean burrito is always good. But I’ll have to go with any of their soft shell tacos. The fresh ingredients seem to make the difference.
(Edit by Melody: Is this it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cracker_Barrel = It fits. It’s part of the massive growth of “quick service restaurants” – These days QSR and what’s traditionally thought of fast food (McDonald’s) are all blurred together as one big major trend of of eating out. And it looks like there are 600+ of them! Wow! We really don’t have much in the way of fast food in Seattle!)
Sonic! I could eat there all the time. I always get a cherry slushie, but when it comes to food it alternates between mozzarella sticks or their popcorn chicken with tater tots
Not the healthiest, but right now 5 Guys is my favorite. I can never eat all their fries at once so I eat them throughout the day. I usually get a cheeseburger with lettuce, mayo, and jalapeno.
Oops, yep ment “Cracker Barrel.” The closest stores I’m aware of are in Montana and Idaho.
Several years ago I asked If they had plans to build in Washington State. After translating their reply into English, they basically build only where there is cheap land and cheap minimum wages, usually next to an interstate. So don’t expect to see them any time soon out on the left coast.
This was definitely a tough one for me as I’m not really one to eat out all the time. If I have to pick though it would definitely be Olive Garden!! Don’t know if this counts but it is absolutely a must go to when I go out to Victorville, CA since I live in Barstow. I always try something new there but I love their Zuppa Toscana soup which is to die for!! Absolutely delicious and paired with their ever famous bread sticks, mmmhmmm!! If I could, I would live solely off that soup of theirs!!
Naturally, Starbucks! After them, it’d have to be Chipotle.
Being vegetarian, getting fast food that is both appetizing (a bowl of salad?) and tasty (I mean, who doesn’t love a deep-fried Austin-style veggie burger) is a big challenge. Chipotle makes it easy while still being relatively inexpensive and still filling.
My favorite thing to get there is the veggie burrito. Light on the brown rice (if I had to complain about Chipotle: they rarely get the brown rice right), extra black beans, sautéed veggies, guacamole (the best ready-made guacamole you can get, IMHO), and just a little bit of cheese and sour cream. Oh—can’t forget to smother it in the spicy red, green, and corn salsas!
Oh, I would love that mug!!! How exciting!
I’m vegan, so there aren’t many fast food chains I can order from. My all-time favorite is CHIPOTLE! At one point, my husband and I were going there once a week. That got kind of expensive, so we had to cut back! I always order the same thing. A veggie burrito bowl! And I have to have guacamole on it. That is the best part!
I love Chipotle. Being a vegetarian, my go to order is a veggie fajita, but I ALWAYS add guacamole to it. What’s the point of ordering Chipotle if you’re not going to splurge on guac??
Sorry for the late entry! I must have totally spaced and missed this post! Thank goodness for #Twitter!
Anyway, my favorite “fast food” chain is subway, as I love the countless number of customizations you can do with their sandwiches. My go to order is normally a club on Italian Herb and Cheese bread with mayo, mustard, Parmesan cheese, lettuce, tomato, olives, and onions. I’ve been ordering that since high school and I love how the flavors can take me back to a totally different time.
Beautiful mug and prize! I do enjoy Five Guys burgers – I love that you can customize your burger and the fries really are great! I recently went to TX and haven’t been able to really find a chain unique to here I like.
