Thank you to the Starbucks Coffee Gear Store for sponsoring this great giveaway! The prize is a gift set including a Starbucks umbrella, Three Region small tote, and a Starbucks water bottle. The winner will be drawn at random. If you want to enter in, just leave a comment with your favorite Starbucks Christmas or winter-time holiday memory below – it could be anything Christmas-holiday-seasonal! Maybe it’s the first time you tried the holiday beverages or a Starbucks gift that spoke to you? It does have to relate to Starbucks.
There are a few rules. I will delete all off topic comments! You really do have to tie your comment to the Starbucks holiday season. Please enter with a valid email address so that I can easily reach you, if you are the winner. You must be over age eighteen. The odds of winner depends upon the number of comments below, or one in 150, depending upon the number of valid entries. No more than 150 comments may be posted in this thread. I will lock the thread at 150 comments. You must post your entry before December 31, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. PST. Only one entry is allowed per person.
I cringe to say this, but I must: Every time I do a giveaway, I get some entries that don’t follow the rules. The two most common problems are as follows – for some reason, some people will try to send me an email with their entry rather than leaving a comment directly on this blog. You really do have leave a blog comment below. The other thing is simply that some people will try to leave an off-topic comment – I will not approve an off-topic comment.
Best of luck to you! Hope you win the tote, umbrella, and water bottle! Thank you to the Starbucks Coffee Gear Store for sponsoring this!
(Edit: I can tell by the comments in moderation that I’ve managed to confuse a number of people with this giveaway. The comment must be on point, relating to specifically Starbucks and the Christmas season. I probably should have required the words either “Holiday” or “Christmas” in the comment because so many people are leaving comments that could be year-round activities. I think that some people read it as Starbucks or the holiday seasonal memories. It’s “and” and not “or.” And, I won’t approve a comment if I have guess why it fits – a few people have left me comments about holiday things they like to do, without ever mentioning Starbucks. And a few people are leaving Starbucks comments that are Starbucks mugs/cups/drinks that are available year-round. I’m sorry to have created such a confusing giveaway. Contact me if you have questions. Despite the confusion, I’m surprised at the how fast new comments are coming! Thanks! If you don’t see your comment below, try re-writing it again with clarity around “holiday” or “Christmas”. Thanks.)

The most vivid memory I have at this time of year is when I walked into a SB store that was not my local
Store and the partners all made me feel
Welcomed and all wished me a happy holiday season. They made me feel like I was a regular customer.
My favorite Starbucks Christmas memory was taking our grandson to Starbucks and getting him lemon pound cake. What makes this special is that he is now 4 and every time he goes to Starbucks now he tells everyone ‘my grampa gets me lemon pound cake’. He brings a smile to everyone he tells. The simple pleasures are the best!
I love the first taste of each year’s Christmas blend!
When I go home for Xmas there is no close Starbucks. We’ve had a great time driving a 1/2 hour on Xmas eve the last few years so I can get my fix. My family doesn’t get it but it’s fun !
My new favorite Christmas tradition is the Starbucks advent calendar. This years was especially pretty because I can re-use it next year!
My favorite part of Christmas that is Starbucks related is my daily drinker (my coffee cup reserved/rotated for daily use at my office desk). Every year, at this time of year, I bust out a holiday themed mug to drink my morning French Roast at my desk. The past few years, this coffee cup is the Snow Scene coffee cup with ice skaters and a dog sledding, and little red airplane on the thumb portion of the handle. Each morning when I pour a cup of Joe, I am reminded of the Christmas holiday and season.

I honestly love Christmas. My favorite Starbucks memory for me would be buying a new Starbucks cup Christmas ornament. I started collecting them last year and now I have two ornaments. Even though I couldn’t go home from college this Christmas I’m glad to have my little tree in my dorm with the beautiful ornaments. I hope to continue this new tradition for many more years.
My favorite is pepperment white chocolate mocha. My uncle passed away on Sunday night due to his battle with brain cancer. I used to bring him coffee…
My favorite of Starbucks during the holidays is when my store manager puts up the Christmas tree and places our baby photos as ornaments and it’s so much fun and exciting when customers try and guess which Starbucks partner is who. It’s makes the holidays feel like home.
My favorite memory of Starbucks and the holidays is sitting with my husband drinking the Christmas blend coffee, as it is his favorite.
I love hunting for clearance Christmas items after Christmas. It’s great deal when you find the tumblers for a free drink everyday of january at half off 🙂
My favorite Starbucks Christmas memory is getting a venti salted carmel mocha and then driving through the local Christmas lights.
I think by far my favorite memory is going to Starbucks this year with my daughter during the holiday season. She is finally old enough to drink a kids hot chocolate this year. It was nice to take her and share with her my love of Starbucks with her for the first time. I enjoyed a Caramel Brulee Latte and she had a hot chocolate. It was perfect!
Thanks for the giveaway! Merry Christmas. 🙂
I love walking into Starbucks and taking in their beautiful cups. I look forward to the season of the red cups.
Mine was today when my daughter ground up fresh Starbucks Christmas blend and made me the best cup of coffee ever. Maybe it was just the fact that she did it for me with love. Merry Christmas everyone.
Starbucks is my ‘bar’. 9am is my ‘happy hour’. While I enjoy Starbucks daily, I especially love the day AFTER Thanksgiving…walking in and everything is RED! The menus, the whole bean bags, cups and mugs…it gets me in the spirit right there on my first morning back at work. I love this store, and all the things it stands for. Merry Christmas, Melody!
My favorite Starbucks Holiday tradition is opening the first bags of Christmas Blend and Christmas Espresso and tasting these coffees with our partners and fine customers!
I love talking about our holiday merchandise with our customers as well as doing coffee tasting with our partners. Super exciting!!!
My favorite moment happened only yesterday! A man came in to get something for his wife who loves mochas. Unfortunately (for now :-D) we can’t really make anything that resembles mochas. However, I had just happened to read a post from the Starbucks FB page that suggested using the hot cocoa kit as a base and the coffee from the Keurig as the espresso! Long story short, he left yesterday with the cocoa set, pound of coffee, mug, handwritten recipe card, and a big smile!!
I love seeing the red cups for the first time every year and the eventual Christmas cup ornament. Also, looking at Christmas lights with a Starbucks in hand is wonderful! 🙂
Must wish my friend, Melody, a very Merry Christmas! You really are amazing!! See you soon – and Happy New Year!!! 2014 has GOT to be a little easier! 😉
My favorite Starbucks holiday memory is from lady Christmas. My family had travelled to Florida to visit my in-laws. I had bought the January tumbler for myself & my wife. We also bought one for my in-laws to share. Once January hit it became a ritual to visit Starbucks for the free refill. It brought out the inner child in all of us!
It wouldn’t feel like Christmas without spending some time with friends over hot drinks. Anywhere I am during the holidays, I usually find time to have a Starbucks moment. And I can’t resist a cranberry bliss bar.
My favorite Starbucks is very close to a large university, so Christmas time coincides with extra-late hours at the store to accommodate finals’ week. My best memory is from a few years ago, writing a big final paper over the course of a week, into the wee hours of the night every night, and all at my warm and cozy local Starbucks.
This year’s Christmas will definitely me a memorable one. Celebrating in sunny Florida with my husband. No snow, no cold, but still a great holiday feeling when entering the local Starbucks for our daily caffeine fix; Gingerbread latte, of course!
My favorite Starbucks memory is probably when I used to be a partner. I had a rough year in 2009, and I really needed a job. I started working the week before Black Friday in a store at the mall. I remember having my first caramel brulee latte during my orientation with my manager, and I loved the holiday spirit!
Nothing kicks off the season like a Starbucks peppermint mocha while enjoying indoor snow and mall shopping. 🙂

My favorite Starbucks Christmas memory is that my husband and I go to Starbucks for breakfast on Christmas Eve. It’s nice to spend time and enjoy some holiday coffee and breakfast. We started doing this before our daughter was born and we take her as well, so we can have some Christmas traditions as a family.
I loved treating friends & family to holiday beverages & getting over 30 Starbucks stars in December so far!
Creme burlee creme, hot, is the best invention ever!
My go to gift is ALWAYS a Starbucks gift card! Everyone loves Starbucks!
My favorite Christmas Starbucks memory is when (on Christmas Eve), I had my first ever pour-over (Ethiopian, and it was delicious!)
My favorite Starbucks Christmas memory is of sipping Starbucks and eating pumpkin scones at SeaTac looking out over the runway with my wife for our first Christmas trip.
Trying the eggnog latte for the first (and last) time. Wayyyyy tooo heavyyyyyy!
My favorite memories come from visiting friends over hot drinks at the Starbucks in my hometown. It’s great to catch up now that we’re all in college!
Hi Melody, thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite memories are from going home for the holidays, meeting up with my best friend in a cozy Starbucks in the center of the old town, chatting for hours in the soft chairs over our peppermint mochas, watching the snow flakes fly outside, then taking a few drinks to go and take long walks… Can’t wait to do it again soon!
Happy Holidays!
Sipping Starbucks on Christmas Eve on the Bayou with a full lit moon!
My favorite memory would be the wreath that I started my first year with the company with our cup ornaments that I keep adding to each year. It reminds me our our history and my very first store each year I unpack it!

As a barista in the Swansea Oxford Street store, my favourite memory has to be the little old lady who drinks with us every day at 7am. One morning two weeks back she lost her normal grumpy demeanour, instead walking in with her home made velour Christmas Cape and a Santa hat with flashing “ho ho ho” writing on the front. Merry Christmas everyone, Luke
… standing in line, waiting to order and the lady in front of me passed on to me a Double Shot Tall Peppermint Mocha and wished me “Happy Holidays”! – luckily I remembered to pick up my Peppermint Mocha Via and Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!!!
My favorite memory of Starbucks during holidays is when I was in NY and bought Starbucks cake pop kit for the first time. Back then I didn’t know what a cake pop was, so I made them with the kit and I fell in love with how fun it is. Now I make cake pops quite regularly and now I’m considered the master of cakepops all thanks to Starbucks opening up the door for me. I’ve made so many different kinds and colors I can’t even list them all here, it was a very fun experience! I just (literally 5 mins ago) picked up the first chocolate meringue cookie ever, and it is delicious!! 🙂
My Fave Christmas Starbucks Memory is sharing gift cards with my family and friends! Everyone loves a nice Peppermint Mocha!
My favorite Starbucks Holiday memory is actually from this Winter – November 1, at the original Pike Place Starbucks. Everyone was lined up at 5am to get our first Red Cups of the season and someone in the line started singing Christmas carols. It turned into about 80 customers singing, as well as a few baristas for about half an hour straight. Now that’s the power great coffee has to unite people.
Thanks for the giveaway!

We had a wonderfully close group of eclectic friends who met weekly at Starbucks. There was Michigan John who lost his arm in Vietnam, Barry whose son works at Google, Bud who was the head of a Biology department at the local university and my husband and myself. We gathered one weekend before Christmas to say “goodbye” to Michigan John who was moving to be close to his grands. We brought a fabulous breakfast casserole that we shared with our friends and the partners. We also had an app on the iPad that had a roaring crackling fire in a fireplace–all the sunny South! We took a lot of pictures, and shared our favorite memories of our mornings at Starbucks. Little did we know that Bud would soon take another position out of state and Barry would die a few weeks later from a heart attack. Those pictures and those stories and the crazy iPad app all at the Starbucks still evoke warm memories in my heart. Carpe diem!
My favourite holiday memory is to buy Christmas tumblers to my friends and family. They love the practicality and usefulness of the Starbucks tumblers. We would use our shiny new tumblers on Christmas day at a local Starbucks to enjoy hot drinks. It has now been a tradition for my friends, family and me.
My favorite memory is renewed each year when I taste christmas blend for the first time. It reminds me of all the hard work smiles and fun we are about to have.
I have had many many memorable Starbucks holiday moments. From first discovering the deliciousness of Christmas Blend, to picking up the many gift sets to give to others. My favorite of course was last year, my first holiday season as a partner. Seeing how we transformed the store during the course of a single night and turning everything red was amazing! Such a different experience to see a little how the behind the scenes magic up close.
I just recently started drinking coffee a couple months ago, and since I’m a coffee newbie and didn’t really know what I types of coffee I liked, so one day when I was visiting Starbucks to try out the Caramel Brulee Frappuccino, they had the Christmas blend VIA packs on sale, so I bought one. It’s the first time I’ve ever had one of their “normal” (non-Frappuccino) coffees and I’m so hooked, I bought a bunch of VIA packs for my Christmas present to myself this year. Next year, maybe I’ll be a true coffee drinker and make buying a bag of Christmas blend a holiday tradition.
My favorite Starbucks memory, Christmas 1999 I was dating this guy (now my husband) who lived in Dumas, AR he came to visit me in Chicago IL, we were in the Gold Coast area and I told him I was cold and wanted some coffee. When I went to open the door to Starbucks he was like “Hold on we can go in there” I asked him why not he replied only Stars can go in there right? Anyway that was the day he tried a Mocha Latte for the first time ever and has been hooked on Starbucks ever since.
Trying Christmas Blend on the Clover for the first time. It was like rediscovering an old friend!
