It’s been a long time since I’ve done a giveaway. If you want to enter this giveaway, you have to follow all of the instructions. I’ll delete comments that don’t. Please read all the instructions. You must be over eighteen years old. You must have a mailing address within the United States or Canada. You may only enter once. If I receive more than valid entry 200 comments, then no comments after 200 will be counted. The contest ends March 7, 2014 (at 6:00 p.m. PST), or at 200 comments, whichever comes first. There will be only one winner, picked at random by me. I’ll put all the names in a hat, and draw out one name. Please enter with a valid email address so that I can easily reach you, should you be selected as the winner. The grand prize is a Sounders Starbucks card pre-loaded with $75 on it. You must share something on this blog: use any form of social media that you like – tweet an article, share via Facebook anything on this blog, pin via Pinterest a photo, use Google+ to share, just for example of means of social media sharing. I am hoping to introduce more people to this little website. I don’t have anyway of really tracking who shared what so I’m counting on the honor system. But your comment below must at least include the words “I shared” and include what form of social media.
Your comment (which must appear below) must include ONE single thing that you either would really want to change or not see changed at Starbucks. This is not a rant session. I am asking that you write with specificity. The only means to enter is a comment below. An email to me or a comment appearing on Facebook, or something else is not a valid entry.
Last night, I went to a happy hour with some friends. I saw a guy whom I’ve known for years and years (he’s an attorney in private practice), and he said to me, “Melody, I just love Christmas Blend. If I stock up on it, how do I store it best? Do I put it in the freezer? How long will it be good for? I never know what coffee to buy when I don’t have Christmas Blend.” I had a moment of realizing that for my friend Matthew, the ONE thing that always keeps him walking back in the door to Starbucks is the Christmas Blend.
And in speaking of the one thing many people would want to change, I hear over and over that people a lemon loaf with icing back! Please limit yourself to ONE single thing that you either want to change or to stay the same and please don’t forget the “I shared” information. I know it’s hard not to talk to about two or three things that you want to throw out in one comment.
I look forward to reading your comments below. I will not be replying to comments, but I am reading them. I’m deleting comments that don’t conform to all the rules above. 🙁 Edit: If your comment is not appearing below, it didn’t follow all of the above rules. I made this a little hard because it is a $75 Starbucks card. Most people are getting tripped up because they want to talk about many things so that feel like they have to write more, like “also…” and start whole new concepts. Also many people are forgetting the “I shared” part. If your comment does not appear below, re-try. Before you submit, double check to see that you included just one topic, and you’ve got the “I shared” language in there. 🙂 Good luck to everyone!

I shared on Facebook! I love Starbucks and the only change I would make is the free refill for qualified customers should be automatic based on the computer showing you already purchased one coffee or tea that day in that store. The barista should not have to decide whether to ring up a new coffee or a refill, or argue about that, the computer could decide. They could then even implement a time limit if they wanted, based on when the last purchase was made. Also the computer would know for example that if you bought a fancy coffee but wanted a brewed refill, that still qualifies as free. That is the policy, but I have been warned by baristas at some locations that they’ll overlook it this time but I shouldn’t get one. Then I feel slighted, and the policy I know is that a brewed free refill is allowed after purchasing an espresso, for example. Thanks for the great blog, hope I win!
“I shared” via twitter; Starbucks should never change their personable service of writing customers’ names on their cups
I shared this blog post via Google+.
I would change the current pumpkin loaf back to the old non-Boulange pumpkin loaf. I miss it so much!
I’d like more bean varieties for espresso shots offered in more stores. I shared by google+.
I would ask that the sea salt for the salted caramel beverages be offered year round.
I would like to see them know at the register whether I have a reward and/or coupon on my card, without me having to remember any codes or prompt them. (This is how Panera’s loyalty card works.)
I shared this page on Facebook. (Even though it reduces my chances!)
I shared on Google+ and twitter.
I would love to have pumpkin spice sauce year round. I just don’t enjoy my iced coffee as much the rest of the year.

I really think that the Starbucks Gold Card program needs to be accepted globally so travelers can utilize the benefits everywhere no matter what country you live in!
I would like Starbucks to have Christmas Blend year round and to lower their prices on the K cups! They are way more expensive than other brands.

I would love for the Tiazzi ‘N’ Cream to return.

I would love it if Starbucks USA had Lactose-Free milk.
They have it on the menu in Europe!

I would love to see the return of free soy milk for gold members.

As a partner, one of the things I would like to see within the company is more in depth clarification in regards to various things. Company-wide knowledge is weak due to lack of clarification, therefore, customers are also experiencing frustrations when something’s not clear enough for them to understand.
SHARED via facebook!
I loved the old fashioned chocolate donuts and would love it if they would return. Not a huge fan of any of the Boulange goodies!
I shared this on twitter.
I would love to see their Christmas Blend year round maybe call it a different name but same blend.
… would add more gf items as good as the flourless chocolate cookies and the discontinued orange almond cake – keep them in individual sealed bags. Gluten free people understand that it is the best way to display them in a case and are not put off by it. There are a lot of people who must make it a way of life due to allergies and they love their Starbucks coffee breaks.

I share the “Jordan at East Olive Way Starbucks Leads a Tribute Blend Coffee Tasting” entry over on Twitter!
And I would love to have the internet Wi-Fi provider change out (sooner, of course. I know Google is supposed to take over all the access points within stores; can’t come fast enough already!)
I would love it they would give you stars per item and not per transaction. It would be better to get your stars when you take your family of four there 🙂

One change I would make is to have more varieties of decaf VIA.
I shared your book review on “Leading the Starbucks Way” by Joseph Michelli via pinterest.
I am really hoping that they will offer almond milk in the future.

I would really hope that Starbucks will one day offer a permanent gold level!

I hope starbucks never changes the Iced or hot passion teas. My personal favorite. Hearing rumblings that Teavarna might replace it, really hope not.
I shared via email. One thing I would like to see is Starbucks implement is more partner recognition. As a regular customer at a few popular locations, I have met so many partner/baristas that I feel are not recognized or acknowledged for the sheer talent and patience they possess. These coffee ninjas are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and I would like to see them recognized.
I would love to see an expansion of the Clover brewing systems to more stores. I shared this post by facebook.
Shared on Facebook. I love the bottled Frappuccinos, but since they are better cold, I would prefer to drink them in the afternoon. Unfortunately, if I do that I end up having trouble sleeping. Please, please: a decaf bottled Frappuccino would be just the thing!
I shared the link to the contest via twitter.
One thing I would really really want to change is the Wi-Fi policy so that you have to make a purchase before being able to connect. Would open up seats for paying customers. I know this won’t happen, but I can wish, right?
[I collect gift cards like no one’s business. Thanks for the opportunity, Melody!]
I shared this blog’s URL on my Twitter feed! 🙂
I would love it if Starbucks created a Starbucks Rewards card with a Visa/MasterCard/Amex built right in. I loved my old DUETTO Visa…and still have it, long expired, as a memento!
I shared your white card post via Pinterest. 🙂 One thing that I would like to see change is the 24 hour wait period for the stars to appear. Keep up the good work, Melody! You have an amazing site!
I wish Starbucks would find a more equitable way to award stars. For example, award one star for each item purchased. Or perhaps award a bonus star when a single transaction reaches a certain dollar amount.
I shared your blog story “Starbucks Stories told via Pictures” via Facebook. (I loved the wall of cups photo!)

The one thing I would change about Starbucks is that I would offer fat-free lactose free milk as a free option.
The main thing I would like to see changed about Starbucks is for them to give a star per item instead of per transaction.

I would like to see no upcharge for soy for gold-level members. I shared on Twitter 🙂

I would like to see Starbucks Reserve coffees made more approachable to our customers. I am currently in the St. Louis market and we have three ways to get our hands on these delicious beans; Grand and Forest Park, Central West End, and online. With the knowledge our partners possess, it is so much easier to make the connection about a bean that begs a larger financial investment than just reading whats posted online regarding flavor profile, acidity level, so on… If even a small number of what is out there made it into our stores, it could have an incredible impact on our business and perhaps return a little old school coffee culture into our stores.
Shaun.
I tweeted the Hazelnut Macchiato story to my feed.
I wish they would bring back the old banana bread. I liked it better than the Boulange one and the new one seems smaller.
I tweeted (@Cassanova92) about this giveaway! https://twitter.com/Cassanova92
I would like to see Starbucks offer some gluten-free/common-allergen-free pastry (or other food) items. I love all of the pastries that are offered at Starbucks, but I am allergic to wheat and indulging in the treats makes me sick. Since Starbucks has such a worldwide fan base, it seems like they are alienating a lot of customers by not offering alternative options for those with intolerances or allergies.
Ah I tried to leave a comment but I don’t think it worked.
I shared this contest on Twitter @Cassanova92 or https://twitter.com/Cassanova92
I would like to see Starbucks offer gluten-free and/or allergen-free pastries or other foods. So many people have allergies, intolerances, or are on diets who would benefit from a greater variety of options. Right now, as someone with many food allergies, I feel somewhat ostracized due to the lack of options.
I shared via facebook.
I would like Starbucks to offer the mocha cookie crumble frappuccino on the static menu instead of just during the summer.
I shared this on Facebook.
I would like to see seasonal cups at all times of the year–similar to the February Valentine’s hot cup from 3 – 4 years back. Not financially feasible I’m sure, but seasonal cups make me happy…it’s the little things!
I retweeted the link for this post (@latsyrhc) 🙂
I would like to not have to swipe my starbucks gold card more than once to get credit for stars, especially during star challenges! One item should equal one star!
I hope that Starbucks will crack down on some fake made in China city collection / you are here mugs.
Please count this as just one comment. I forgot to add that I shared via facebook
I am new to Starbucks…I would LOVE to see 1 MORE STUFFED CHAIR!….I always come to “coffee-up” when the toosh-cushion-chairs are..filled…(sigh!)…..my ancient buns need the love, thanks….. I shall post to facebook, I think……and thank-you!
facebook shared as rayray cartucci. I wish they would come up with some new flavors or new ideas….maybe more tasty seasonal drinks. Thanks so much. Have a great week.
I am sharing this on Facebook. I would like the Starbucks app on my Iphone to record not only the date of purchase in the recent transactions section, but also the time of purchase so that I would not have to use my receipt to prove I bought a drink in a specified period of time.
I pinned a photo.
I know the platform isn’t as popular, but I have a Windows phone and I would love an official Starbucks app for my phone. I hate having to pull up an email to get the coupon code; having an app seems a lot more convenient! Obviously, the lack of apps doesn’t keep me away, however…
I shared via facebook 🙂
The one thing I’d like to see change is the way the gold card works. I really feel that a star per item and not per transaction would better reward people and make it easier on baristas as well.
I would like Starbucks drinks to be made healthier! Shared on facebook!https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10201787777962878&id=218615568219636&stream_ref=10

One thing I would change at Starbucks:
Having the option to tip with a registered Starbucks card.
This could be easily done as a pre-set amount or percentage per transaction. 25 cents, 50 cents, 10%, 15%, or however generous you feel. This could be changed on your profile, just like reloading or transferring balances.
Starbucks does so many promotions, this will happen just as soon as they decide to do it.
When they do, it will be the greatest day in the history of Starbucks.
I’m not a partner. Just someone who feels bad when I don’t have spare change for the tip jar.
🙂

I like Starbuck’s a lot, but go to Dunkin more often because it is less expensive and they give refills!
i shared via twitter. i hope they change all their pastries back to when they tasted good.
