It’s been a long time since I’ve done a giveaway. If you want to enter this giveaway, you have to follow all of the instructions. I’ll delete comments that don’t. Please read all the instructions. You must be over eighteen years old. You must have a mailing address within the United States or Canada. You may only enter once. If I receive more than valid entry 200 comments, then no comments after 200 will be counted. The contest ends March 7, 2014 (at 6:00 p.m. PST), or at 200 comments, whichever comes first. There will be only one winner, picked at random by me. I’ll put all the names in a hat, and draw out one name. Please enter with a valid email address so that I can easily reach you, should you be selected as the winner. The grand prize is a Sounders Starbucks card pre-loaded with $75 on it. You must share something on this blog: use any form of social media that you like – tweet an article, share via Facebook anything on this blog, pin via Pinterest a photo, use Google+ to share, just for example of means of social media sharing. I am hoping to introduce more people to this little website. I don’t have anyway of really tracking who shared what so I’m counting on the honor system. But your comment below must at least include the words “I shared” and include what form of social media.
Your comment (which must appear below) must include ONE single thing that you either would really want to change or not see changed at Starbucks. This is not a rant session. I am asking that you write with specificity. The only means to enter is a comment below. An email to me or a comment appearing on Facebook, or something else is not a valid entry.
Last night, I went to a happy hour with some friends. I saw a guy whom I’ve known for years and years (he’s an attorney in private practice), and he said to me, “Melody, I just love Christmas Blend. If I stock up on it, how do I store it best? Do I put it in the freezer? How long will it be good for? I never know what coffee to buy when I don’t have Christmas Blend.” I had a moment of realizing that for my friend Matthew, the ONE thing that always keeps him walking back in the door to Starbucks is the Christmas Blend.
And in speaking of the one thing many people would want to change, I hear over and over that people a lemon loaf with icing back! Please limit yourself to ONE single thing that you either want to change or to stay the same and please don’t forget the “I shared” information. I know it’s hard not to talk to about two or three things that you want to throw out in one comment.
I look forward to reading your comments below. I will not be replying to comments, but I am reading them. I’m deleting comments that don’t conform to all the rules above. 🙁 Edit: If your comment is not appearing below, it didn’t follow all of the above rules. I made this a little hard because it is a $75 Starbucks card. Most people are getting tripped up because they want to talk about many things so that feel like they have to write more, like “also…” and start whole new concepts. Also many people are forgetting the “I shared” part. If your comment does not appear below, re-try. Before you submit, double check to see that you included just one topic, and you’ve got the “I shared” language in there. 🙂 Good luck to everyone!

I really want the vanilla Spiced latte they had last year. Actually if they just bring back the whip cream with the crushed vanilla bean sugar, I would prolly go to starbucks more often. Although I’m from seattle, I can’t drink coffee, so this drink was always made into a cream drink and it was soooooo good!
I really hope that Starbucks continues to offer the Christmas espresso blend during the holidays.

One change I’d like to see at Starbucks is more milk offerings, specifically almond milk and lactose-free milk. A lot of small coffeehouses provide these offerings in addition to the soy and regular dairy milks. C’mon Starbucks, you can do it! 😉
I shared the article about the Tribute Blend tasting on Twitter.
I agree with many who would like to be rewarded stars per item rather than transaction. Sharing on facebook.
I really like the rewards program extended into the grocery store where purchasing a bag of beans results in Stars.
I shared the refill policy article on Facebook. And I’d love for the holiday flavors to come in sugar free!
I would like to see MORE CLOVER locations
Will be sharing on Facebook.
Thank you
I shared your contest link via re tweet.
The one change I would like to see happen the most at Starbucks is for seasonal drinks to be available year round if stores feel like ordering those seasonal products. My favorite drinks are Salted Caramel Mocha and Caramel Brûlée. My regular stores would carry the seasonal ingredients if they could because they know they could sell enough of those drinks to make it worthwhile.

I wish Starbucks offered decaf coffee in the afternoon.
I shared the site on Facebook.
I would like to see the rewards system change so that items costing more than a certain amount each garner a star, rather than an entire transaction.
I shared your post about the return of the Tribute Blend on Twitter.
I wish they would change the English muffins they use in the breakfast sandwiches to something that’s less tough-and-chewy, though I’m not sure if that’s because of the muffins they chose or how they heat them up.
I did share it on Facebook!
I would like to see more seasonal drinks – like the pumpkin spice. Maybe one certain kind or two of frappe they have every summer or a hot drink to replace the Christmas ones for the Jan to April season.
I just shared the link for your give away on Facebook. I hope you get more followers!
My suggested change: I want Starbucks to put a Clover in every store. I drink espresso drinks but one taste of coffee processed using a Clover was enough to turn me into a brewed coffee fan!
Thanks for asking!
Hi Melody… Thank you for putting on this contest and for your wealth of Starbucks knowledge and updates.
A few of my good friends are baristas at our local Starbucks. One of their most often expressed complaint is when a customer will order a “secret menu” drink and know nothing about what is actually in it. Baristas do a great job of memorizing what all goes into each drink on the menu, and even a few seasonal or local favorites that may not appear on the menu. If a customer wants a drink made a certain way (and have it made consistent every time), they should learn how to order their specific drink with the necessary add-ins or mods (in barista terms, not ‘what it tastes like’). To better educate the customers on their ordering procedure, maybe have a handout at the counter, or a section on the Starbucks website, explaining the terminology of ‘base’, ‘shot’, ‘syrup’ or ‘cream’, and what kind/how much goes into their favorite drink.

I wish they would switch their pastries back to the original; the new bakery items just aren’t as tasty in my opinion.
I wish they would bring back the mocha Valencia.

I would like to see Starbucks modify its rewards program to count each item or every $5 increment as a star-worthy purchase. I often buy 5 or 10 drinks all at once, and only getting one star for that makes me a sad puppy.

I RT your tweet 2 days ago.
I wish I can purchase Evolution Harvest snack items from the Starbucks Store online.

I would love to go back to the flat 10% discount with gold card instead of stars.
I’d love it if ALL Starbucks locations participated in all the cardholder perks (ie. redeeming birthday reward, etc). I had a sad birthday when I stopped by a Starbucks (not freestanding location) that didn’t allow me to get my free drink. Sharing on Facebook!
I have always enjoyed Starbucks Coffee anytime of day or night especially the Venti White Mocha with whip cream and a little caramel on top. I do wish that they would have all the great Starbucks employees to ask for the customers name to write it on the cup it is a great way to keep track of the correct order. I will share this on Facebook.

2. in the same vein as the post i shared, i actually really wish some of the seasonal flavours stuck around all year. for instance, i just learned the lqa store has finally run out of creme brulee. there’s nothing super holiday about the flavour, but it’s only a winter syrup!
i would buy it all year long if i could 🙂

I wish that Starbucks would make more mugs and tumblers that were a part of their new promotional line of coffee and/or Starbucks cards. I am envious of the promotions that are done overseas (Sakura/Cherry blossoms in Japan and Korea).
P.S. New to your blog! Love the informative posts!
I shared your post about paying it forward on Facebook.
One thing I would like to see changed is the fact that chocolate chai doesn’t exist in the starbucks computer system as a frappuccino, so the partners get really confused when I order a chocolate chai cream frappuccino!
I shared the link to your website on facebook.
I wish Starbucks would serve Peppermint mocha all year long!
I shared on Pinterest.
When enjoying BOGO free promos with my daughter, I would appreciate receiving discounts for both mugs we bring, instead of just one. I still helped the environment and spared the company a paper cup, even if I only paid for one drink.
I’ll be sharing on Facebook.
As a non-coffee drinker, I’m disappointed when the specials are often for espressos and I can’t be used for any drink. I wish there were specials that weren’t specific for espressos and could be used for chai tea.

I’d like to see the PSL all year long. 🙂

I wish Starbucks would have more City gift cards.
I would like to see Starbucks sell skinny peppermint mocha all year. I would buy it every day!!!

If I were to change one thing at Starbucks, I would have more vegan options, especially vegan deserts.

I’m a vegan, and while Starbucks does offer some vegan-friendly options, I would like to see more; in particular, vegan whipped cream would be a fantastic addition to their lineup.

I would like to see a better pour-over station in cafes, with it’s own grinder and optimized water pot for guaranteed freshness and optimal temp. I’d also like to see them offer their full compliment of in store coffees for pourover at all times, so i could get some non-Pike medium roasts.
I shared on Facebook and I think that or wish Starbucks would offer their or put their specials right on your card so u didn’t have to keep flip flopping all the time.
I would like it if Starbucks would have all the drinks on their secret menu available to order or maybe feature different one’s at different times. I shared this on Facebook. Thank you!

I wish starbucks would modify its reward system.
I’m going to share/tweet your blog link after posting this comment.
I know the furniture can vary by location, but I’d like to see more comfy chair seating. Those tiny wooden chairs and high barstool type chairs just don’t work for me (i’m short and a big girl), but the reading type chairs (my fave location has the red leather ones) are perfect.

I wish Starbucks would remove the extra charge for soy milk. My regular drink is a soy misto, and I feel that they charge too much. This is how the drink is charged:
– Grande coffee + Milk + Soy milk
What I don’t agree with is that they charge for a grande size coffee, even though it is filled up only half way with coffee. Then they add on the cost of the milk. Then they add on an additional charge for soy milk.
Thank you Melody, I love your blog! 🙂

I would change Starbuck’s individualized marketing of rewards. In the recent Star Dash, you were penalized for being a frequent customer with extremely high goals.
I retweeted you article introducing the new vanilla macchiato.
I would love to see a few more syrups added to Starbucks. Years ago, they had almond and I fell in love. I would like a little more variety in the flavors I can add to my coffee.

I would like Starbucks to offer the Pumpkin Spice Latte all year round.
For me, the best thing at starbucks is the music and the pastries, i think that is why i’m so addicted to it. I shared your web site on pinterest
ps: i love how you write your articles
I tweeted your Star Dash article as I was confused about how the process worked until I read your article. Thank you!
I would love to see Starbucks in the US bring in sakura flavored drinks from Japan. It’s a little expensive to fly to Japan just so I can indulge myself with a sakura frappuccino lol.
I hope that we as a company never deviate from our mission statement, and hopefully find even more ways to express it in day to day functions.
Our mission: to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, one neighborhood at a time.
I shared. One thing I wouldn’t want to change is the friendly baristas at the Starbucks in Peachtree Corners (Norcross, GA). I hang out there very week during my daughter’s dance class and they’re always fun to talk to.
I wish all the Starbucks kiosk locations were set up to accept the iPhone payment app and auto-loaded rewards. I live in a small town that doesn’t have a stand-alone location.

As a non-coffee drinker (I know…strange…), I would like to see more specials/promotions involving chai latte drinks.

I shared on facebook about the card design. I wish they had a better way to write the drink orders for the reusable cups. It defeats the purpose of trying to help the earth out when a paper sleeve is used especially since I have a really cool fabric one.

I wish the the Clover brewing system were in more locations.

I wish Starbucks would give reward members a star for each item purchased instead of having to split them up into separate transactions
