I hope this works. It’s my first experiment with Rafflecopter. To enter to win this giveaway, leave a comment below. Your comment can be anything Starbucks related. Also click through and view the book that I recently published. (Here is the link to view Tales of the Siren: A StarbucksMelody on Amazon.com – the paperback is only $9.99 and even less if you have Amazon prime.) Both Kindle versions and paperback versions are available via Amazon.com.
I really have done A TON of giveaways on this blog over the past five years, and usually what I do is manually write everyone’s name on a small card and pick one person’s name out of a Starbucks bag. I’m a little bit worried if I’m using Rafflecopter correctly. If you want to enter this giveaway do all of the following: Write one comment below. Do not write more than one comment. Say anything related to Starbucks. You could mention your favorite drink or food or whatever you like. Instead of writing something about Starbucks, you could mention if you’ve actually read my book and if there was anything in particular that struck you. Click through and check out my new book! I’ll be pretty blunt – It’s not required that you actually buy the book, but I thought there may be plenty of people who will be enticed by Tales of the Siren: A StarbucksMelody. Mentioned that you viewed the book. You can write something as simple as “I clicked through!” or “I saw your book on Amazon.”
Use the Rafflecopter widget to get in your entry. I’m going to let it pick a winner for me! (In case I haven’t been clear, I’ll re-mention it here. Last time I did a giveaway, I was very strict about the form of the comment. This time, I’m not. This is very free-form commenting and very forgiving about the comments. Since I’m letting Rafflecopter do the choosing of a winner, I’m not being picky about the comments – but I love reading your comments! 🙂 But it is Rafflecopter, and not the fact of your comment that gets you entered.)
On the topic of Tales of the Siren, it’s been out about two weeks. I’m starting to hear wonderful feedback from those who have already read it. It’s intended as a fun and uplifting, easy read about Starbucks. This book takes a unique look at Starbucks by putting a spotlight on how Starbucks is different than other Fortune 500 companies. In this book, you will see examples of their blogger/ customer out reach (read the chapter on Blonde Roast), examples of how even top leadership like Cliff Burrows (President of Starbucks Americas, EMEA, and Teavana) gets involved in community service and will pick up litter and plant tree seedlings, and examples of friendships made along the way.
If you’ve been thinking about buying Tales of the Siren, I hope you’ll do so now and tell others about it. I’m doing all of my own publicity, so this means I am counting on word of mouth excitement.
Make sure you enter the giveaway before Rafflecopter says the giveaway has ended. And you have to be over 18 years old to play. I’ll mail a loaded Starbucks card anywhere – I’ll even put it on an Evolution Fresh card if you like so you have one for your collection. However, I do not accept responsibility for your ability to actually use the card. Not all Starbucks markets (especially true of some foreign Starbucks markets) have and use Starbucks cards.
As always, I delete personal attacks and comments that are just hostile and nasty.
I hope this works.

I love your recent travels south, sounds like how I do car trips, Starbucks to Starbucks. 🙂
OK pedestrian for most I guess, but my favorite is a Venti Java Chip Frap with 2 squirts of peppermint syrup. Always use my freebies for that.

I am happy that Starbucks brought back the pumpkin bread!
I never drank coffee until I downloaded the Starbucks app. I’m addicted to earning stars, and went to the Employee Store at the HQ building based on your recommendation. Love supporting this company, and this blog.
I’m looking forward to reading your book because I really enjoy your blog. I always know fall is here when pumpin spice is available. It is my guilty pleasure!
It’s finally warm in Minnesota – iced coffee time!
I tend to go through phases with my drink of choice at Starbucks. First it was the chai tea latte with soy, then it was an unsweetened passion iced tea, then it was an americano topped off with soy, and now it’s iced coffee.
Love your blog! Will read your book over iced coffee in Newfoundland!
My favorite drink is a Triple Grande Nonfat Hazelnut Macchiato. I enjoy reading your posts as much as I enjoy going to Starbucks! Love your new book also, especially because you gives us some insight of what goes on behind the scenes. Thabk you for sharing all your adventures on here! Safe travels!!
Clicked through to Amazon and clicked on ‘look inside’ but only the cover was available to view.
Starbucks is a charming institution – when some wingnut figured out a way to concoct a deadly 60-espresso shot free drink worth 55 bucks (the size of which is hilarious if you’ve seen the uncropped picture), a Starbucks spokesperson responded with typical reserve, saying only that “this particular customization was certainly excessive.”
There’s a Starbucks inside Litchfield Beach Resort in South Carolina that is so quaint and lovely. It’s wonderful to have a Starbucks right by the beach.
I love Starbucks and always look forward to reading your blog.
@DavidAyer – Thanks for pointing that at out. I thought I’d set up Amazon.com with the first 15% available as a preview. You can view the first 15% of my book via Smashwords. https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/436901
Love all things Starbucks, and getting the inside scoop from your blog on a regular basis. Looking forward to reading your book.
Favorite drink is the dirty chai frapp and I clicked through your book!
LOVE the new Caffee Espresso Frappucccino- the coffee caramel drizzle is dope :). Congrats on your book, Tales of a Siren!
I clicked through the preview and it looks great… and lots of positive reviews! I love Starbucks– it is part of my day that I always look forward to and no other coffee shop compares for me.
My regular drink is a grande iced coffee w/ soy and 1 pump vanilla. Until my free drink happens, then all bets are off. 😉
I saw your book, looks great!
My friend got me the Tales of the Siren book as a gift and I read it cover to cover on my travels a week ago. All but the epilogue was read between the two flights I took. I won’t say where, but one chapter made me get tears in my eyes, and of course this was as the beverage cart stewardess approached me to offer me a beverage! Such a great book, if you write another I will definitely purchase it!
I love this blog and the community of great people who love Starbucks and make thoughtful comments on this blog. Thank you Melody for spending all the time and care that you do on the blog. Looking forward to buying the book!
@Megan – Thank you for reading it and I’m glad you liked it so much!! I’m starting to get great positive feedback on the book. I hoped it would resonate with both partners and customers and had been a little worried that it would be less interesting to customers. I know which chapter got your eyes a little wet. No spoilers! I hope you’ll talk up the book with your friends or favorite baristas.
@IzzyJ – Thank you for always being there! I hope you like the book too.
Is it weird to wake up and wonder when I can get to the nearest starbucks? I hope not.
A perfect morning consists of my usual Starbucks Iced Coffee, an Almond Croissant Blossom and warm smiles from my favorite baristas…..a few of my favorite things! No matter how the day goes at least it started off with something wonderful. 🙂
I look forward to reading your blog. It is always an interesting read on a great subject!
Hi. Your book looks interesting! Thanks 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway. Congrats on your book. We love Starbucks!
I love getting apple chai in the fall 🙂
I love Starbucks, but not so fond of their dark blends – love the Pumpkin Spice Latte
I’ve enjoyed your blog for ages, so I knew I’d love reading your book. And I was right! I especially enjoying reading about your friendship with Minori. I have a big collection of Starbucks mugs from every city I’ve visited around the world. And my Kyoto cup is my favorite (as was my visit to Starbucks in Kyoto).
On another note, I recently had my first taste of Oprah Chai. Although I was quite disappointed to learn that Oprah wasn’t going to appear from the backroom and make my Oprah Chai Latte, my barista buddy assured me Oprah had personally picked and dried the tea leaves for my delicious drink. (He’s such a cut up!)
I have to say I’m obsessed with the iced caramel VIA made with soymilk as of late. I have one a day. I may have a problem…LOL
My idea: Starbucks should have an express line in the morning for people in a hurry who just want to grab a brewed coffee and go.
Great job on this blog.
Just picked up a grande iced mocha from my favorite store because it’s so hot out today!
I’m not a coffee drinker; but I love the Iced Chai Tea Latte at Starbucks! I also viewed your book on Amazon.
