I hope this works. It’s my first experiment with Rafflecopter. To enter to win this giveaway, leave a comment below. Your comment can be anything Starbucks related. Also click through and view the book that I recently published. (Here is the link to view Tales of the Siren: A StarbucksMelody on Amazon.com – the paperback is only $9.99 and even less if you have Amazon prime.) Both Kindle versions and paperback versions are available via Amazon.com.
I really have done A TON of giveaways on this blog over the past five years, and usually what I do is manually write everyone’s name on a small card and pick one person’s name out of a Starbucks bag. I’m a little bit worried if I’m using Rafflecopter correctly. If you want to enter this giveaway do all of the following: Write one comment below. Do not write more than one comment. Say anything related to Starbucks. You could mention your favorite drink or food or whatever you like. Instead of writing something about Starbucks, you could mention if you’ve actually read my book and if there was anything in particular that struck you. Click through and check out my new book! I’ll be pretty blunt – It’s not required that you actually buy the book, but I thought there may be plenty of people who will be enticed by Tales of the Siren: A StarbucksMelody. Mentioned that you viewed the book. You can write something as simple as “I clicked through!” or “I saw your book on Amazon.”
Use the Rafflecopter widget to get in your entry. I’m going to let it pick a winner for me! (In case I haven’t been clear, I’ll re-mention it here. Last time I did a giveaway, I was very strict about the form of the comment. This time, I’m not. This is very free-form commenting and very forgiving about the comments. Since I’m letting Rafflecopter do the choosing of a winner, I’m not being picky about the comments – but I love reading your comments! 🙂 But it is Rafflecopter, and not the fact of your comment that gets you entered.)
On the topic of Tales of the Siren, it’s been out about two weeks. I’m starting to hear wonderful feedback from those who have already read it. It’s intended as a fun and uplifting, easy read about Starbucks. This book takes a unique look at Starbucks by putting a spotlight on how Starbucks is different than other Fortune 500 companies. In this book, you will see examples of their blogger/ customer out reach (read the chapter on Blonde Roast), examples of how even top leadership like Cliff Burrows (President of Starbucks Americas, EMEA, and Teavana) gets involved in community service and will pick up litter and plant tree seedlings, and examples of friendships made along the way.
If you’ve been thinking about buying Tales of the Siren, I hope you’ll do so now and tell others about it. I’m doing all of my own publicity, so this means I am counting on word of mouth excitement.
Make sure you enter the giveaway before Rafflecopter says the giveaway has ended. And you have to be over 18 years old to play. I’ll mail a loaded Starbucks card anywhere – I’ll even put it on an Evolution Fresh card if you like so you have one for your collection. However, I do not accept responsibility for your ability to actually use the card. Not all Starbucks markets (especially true of some foreign Starbucks markets) have and use Starbucks cards.
As always, I delete personal attacks and comments that are just hostile and nasty.
I hope this works.

I can’t wait to get the new frappucino Starbucks card 🙂
I flipped through the book and I love what I skimmed through and can’t wait to read a physical copy when I buy it and get it signed sometime. ..
A free drink that takes five days to drink? Sounds interesting, but not worth clicking on the Facebook feed. (P.S. I did order the book, but cancelled today before it shipped because it costs less all of a sudden. I will order it again later. And it will get here sooner because of my Prime trial.)
@Kurt -Oh that’s one weird thing about Amazon.com – They can set their own price for your book if they want. They won’t actually change the profit you earn (I think – I’m not even sure of this) but if Amazon feels your book needs to go on sale, they can do that. Thanks for ordering it. I think it’s now $8.99 with Amazon Prime which sounds pretty good to me!
I would like to Thank you for your blog. I stumbled across it many, many Mont h s ago and have been an avid reader ever since. PS, love white mocha esp in the colder months.
Interesting, as I write this there are 53 posts indicated, yet only 35 entries showing on Rafflecopter. I wonder if people are not wanting to “login”?
Melody, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading “Tales of the Siren: A StarbucksMelody” (great title too). Most of my reading is in the technical vein so it was refreshing to have something fun to read for a change. For your first venture into publishing I have to give you an A+. If a person is a Starbucks Fan this is a must read. And if a person is not a Starbucks Fan it is an even more imperative read so that they understand what this not so little coffee company means to people.
Melody, you make a lot of people smile every day. Thanks
Melody I know only one comment per person but have to agree with dad cooks both in doing the giveaway and in his comments re the book.
I just happened to stumble over this blog and I’m glad I did (because of being a fellow Starbucks enthusiast). I may just have to stop by Starbucks today to see what new flavors are in store.

Happiness is walking into Starbucks and seeing Verona as the dark roast!
Long time StarbucksMelody follower 🙂 Once I had like $490 in my gold card and was trying to redeem a gift card but was told that I can’t hold more than $500 in my card lol
I could soooo go for a green tea frappucino right now!! About to go check out your book!
I like Starbucks green tea soy latte.
The weather is warm finally and I am craving a Starbucks lime Refresher right now.
LOVE the new book! What a great read snuggled up w/my fave…the new vanilla macchiato in a tall hot breve w/an extra espresso shot! 🙂
Enjoy reading your blog! Love shaken iced tea from my Starbucks.
I’m obsessed with the passion fruit tea lately! It’s gotten so hot in florida and the tea is just so refreshing!
I love the warm sunshine! It makes me want to drink Valencia Orange Refreshers! They taste like sunshine in a cup!
Love reading the blog and getting the scoop on new things Starbucks-related and finding out stuff that isn’t available in my region!
I love all of their refreshers!
the lattes are the best!
The Kindle version is only $5.99! Excited to read! I love my decaf, grande, nonfat, 3 pump, light espresso whip mocha. Will drink that while reading!
I hope this goes through — my first comment didn’t publish.
Anyway, I love anything Starbucks related. I go at least once a day (most days) and not only love the coffee, but the coffee and Starbucks experience as well. I’m looking forward to reading your book!
A Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino with added pumps of Caramel syrup sounds so good right now.
For the difference between the number of comments vs the number of entries in Rafflecopter, it’s probably due to if someone commented more than once or maybe some people have commented, but did not want to enter the giveaway. And I think there’s a way to create an “entry” in Rafflecopter where people can comment in the form itself, just fyi for next time.
I clicked through!
Went to my local Starbucks yesterday evening, and decided to utilize the drive-thru. I was pleasantly surprised when the Partner working the window let me know that the car in front of my had paid for my ~$8 order. I promptly, of course, did the same for the car behind me, managing to escape with a ~$3 charge. I did what I felt any kind soul should do, and tipped the Partner the difference.
My first time seeing a Pay it Forward chain in action – I must say it added a little cheer to the day!
… have enjoyed your blog with its observations and tips and checking out the book on Amazon will be putting it in my wish list. thanks for sharing!
rafflecopter is weird, but seems to work well for those i know who use it.
got the new frappuccino card, got the misspelled tumbler 🙂 makes me happy, even though i put the card in my wallet and not on a keyring. there’ve been a lot of nice cards lately!
I love how you always focus on the positive about Starbucks. As a large, world-wide corporation it endeavors to create a positive environment for both customers and partners. The times it falters you help readers remember the culture depends on everyone assuming positive intent and that misunderstandings are human nature.
I like that starbucks now has more tea selection!
When you go to Seattle make sure you take time to stop in at the 2401 Utah Ave. North location and browse through the old photos along w/ Pike’s Place location! I have scrolled through your book on Amazon and have mentioned to several, will try to spread the word.
Mocha Frappuccino is my favorite drink.
Cool! I learned about the origin of “Pike Place Roast”
I recently ordered a soy green tea latte after not having one for probably over a year and oh my goodness was it delicious! My tastebuds were singing as I sipped. :o)
Kudos on the rave reviews on Amazon!
Hope I win!
BTW, my local stores seem to have pulled the misspelled Frap tumblers. I don’t think they sold out. Does anyone know if they’re now a collectible item? 🙂
The book looks great! Could definitely use a Starbucks drink right now!
I bought the book when it was first released. I’ve read the first few chapters and then got busy — story of my life. Maybe I can read some more this weekend on my deck in the sunshine! Woohoo!
Love Starbucks and love your blog. Can’t wait to read your book by the pool with a Caramel mocha Frappuccino.
I can’t wait to read this! I am such a Starbucks junkie! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway.

I <3 Starbucks and am there almost everyday! I can't wait to read your book Melody – I here a lot of great things about it 🙂
(your biggest fan in Canada)
Loved the book. Can’t wait to get a physical copy to share with friends and partners at my local store.
I love fraps! I hope I entered the draw (couldn’t find a way to leave a comment on the rafflecopter so hopefully I did everything right)
Well I entered before I read everything, I’m not 18 or older so if my name comes up send the card to someone else
I would like to say,
Oprah Chai is my favorite drink. And I love the part in your book where your rushing to get some Mac and cheese & the part where Howard yells “MELODY” while your shopping in the HQ,
-George i
With this I could get one of those record breaking Starbucks drinks with 60 shots of espresso lol
Congrats on the book,! I saw it on Amazon
Love the new iced teas
I like the simple, clean cover. It references warm colors and a kind of “earthiness” I associate with Starbucks. I wondered how the price point was set, too, but I see it was already referenced earlier.
I like that you have a “cast of characters” section within the book. I bet there are some really happy partners and Starbucks enthusiasts! Congrats on releasing your book about something you (and many of your readers) view with passion!
Had my first green tea frap today
Now that it is getting warm I love having a vanilla bean frap.
Love the new iced teas and the Oprah Chai
I love Starbucks tea selection now. Have to get one everyday!
