This is your chance to enter to win a bag of the all-new, super limited, Starbucks Reserve Christmas Blend. Please read ALL the rules carefully. I’ve had this blog for six years and I’ve actually never done a giveaway without at least a few people simply not following the rules. If your entry doesn’t meet the rules, it won’t be counted.
Starbucks Reserve Christmas Blend retails for $17.50 for the 8.8 ounce flavorlock bags.
How to enter:
- Leave a comment on this blog.
- You must be over age 18.
- You may only enter one time – any non-entry comments will be removed.
- You must post your comment before Thursday, November 26, 2015, at 8:00 AM, Pacific Standard Time.
- Identify if you’re a partner or a customer: I’m going to put all the entries into a hat (separated by customer versus partner) and pull them out. One bag of Reserve Christmas Blend will go to a partner. Another will go to a customer.
- Please tell me if you’re a new reader to this blog or if you’ve been following it for a while. (I’m just very curious. I started this website in 2009).
- Please answer the question, “What does the phrase ‘Coffee Journey‘ mean to me?'”.
- You may not write more than 70 words. (Please count carefully – all one letter words like “I” and “a” are words too. Symbols like an ampersand are not words.)
- You must have an address in the United States, Canada, or the UK.
- Please enter with a valid email address – over the years, I’ve experienced where winners don’t reply to emails and are hard to get in touch with, if they’ve won. If you don’t respond to my email within 15 days of me notifying you that you’ve won, you have forfeited your prize.
- Winners are drawn at random. Your odds of winning depend upon how many people comment below. I think I’ve made this a little challenging and a short window of time to enter, so hopefully there won’t be too many entries.
- Please allow up to two weeks for me to ship the coffee to you.
- I’ll post the winner’s name on Friday, November 27th, in the comments to this blog post.
Good luck!

Hello, my name is Diele and I am a partner. Reading the blog since the first year and consider you a part of my coffee journey. Very blessed you sent coffee that led to my promotion to ASM. Proud to call you a fellow coffee enthusiast.
Hi Melody! My name is Shuston and I’ve been reading your blog for a few years now. I am a customer. Coffee journey to me means finding a Starbucks that’s open when power goes out where I live. Lol.
Long time partner (17 yrs), long time reader (from beginning), mostly lerker as I don’t comment on every post (my fault).
My “Coffee Journey” had begun when I first started at Starbucks, and didn’t really understand why all these brewed coffees tasted so different, even why prepared exactly the same way. My journey began to try to understand this. Over the years, as I learned, I took all this information and put it into learning sheets, to be able to share with other partners & customers. I began teaching a weekly “coffee class”, which continued for 7 yrs. I even even included a roasting class in my series.
My coffee journey is never ending. New coffees coming out all the time. New brewing methods being developed. New pairing ideas evolve.
The biggest part of my journey that is still missing is Origin. I have the education from the farm. I know what happens. I see what happens (video & photo). But I need to FEEL what happens. I need to be there. To understand what it really takes to make the start of a coffees journey.
I know this was more than 50 words, but I didn’t really write this for the contest as I do work in a Reserve store.
Love your stuff, Melody! Keep it going.
NOTE FROM MELODY – WO that is beautiful. Okay it’s so beautiful I can’t delete but it won’t be included as an entry in this giveaway.
Hi! I’m a customer and I’ve been following for over a year… The phrase “coffee journey” to me, means experiencing the individual flavor notes in every sip of the finest coffees i can find and sharing with all who wish…
Hi Melody I am a customer and have lost track of how long I am reading this blog, but it seems from the beginning. Coffee journey means to me learning about all the interesting blends from around the world and reading which ones are people’s favorites.
I am a partner & reader since 2009.
To me, coffee journey means constant growth and development surrounding our craft, and sharing what we learn along the way.
I’ve been following your blog since the music coffee tasting at Westlake center in 2009. Technically I am a “customer for life”. My coffee journey is about love. Love for the beans, the food pairings, the knowledge, the passion and most importantly the love for the people making it. I love sharing coffee and talking about coffee. #formerpartnerthough
A customer-starting reading about 6 month ago, i love your articles! my comment-A coffee journey is a way of life. When i need time to relax/gather my thoughts, having a coffee is it!
Partner, following you for years. Coffee Journey to me is not just the amazing coffee and how it becomes what it is. It’s also about the experiences we get to share with customers, community, and partners as we enjoy/appreciate such a great creation. Also about what coffee allows us to contribute as well.
Kristen here – partner. Following blog for a few years.
A coffee journey is the ongoing personal learning path driven by the passion for what I do, so that I can inspire others.
Nicholas here. Former partner still loyal customer. Been reading the blog now for about two years, when I first became a partner
Coffee journey to me means immersing yourself into the coffee. Trying each coffee learning their tastes learning their nuances. Finding out why your tastes buds tell you.
I am a partner currently on MY COFFEE JOURNEY to become a coffee master! This means I get to experience the wonderful, complex, and tasteful aromas and flavors of coffee from around the world! (Wish I was closer to the Roastery!! ) YOU are my navigator!
Hi there! I am a customer. And just found your blog while googling info on Starbucks refill discounts! Love what I’ve read so far. My Coffee Journey – is to learn more about it. I’ve been a tea drinker all my life, and just this year started on coffee. Thanks!
NOTE FROM MELODY: Hi Jeanne! Welcome to “StarbucksMelody”! It’s funny but the refill policy is *still* the most common search term that leads people to this site.
I’m a Starbucks customer and have been following the blog for awhile now. Most days ‘Coffee Journey’ means a walk to the Keurig, but when thinking beyond my immediate coffee desires it can mean anything from actively trying to convince management that we need a coffee machine at work, to finding time to get out to Starbucks to enjoy something special.
Been following for a while. I’m a customer. My journey is around the world in 80 coffees. Love to try coffees from all over the world. You started my journey Melody.
I’m a Starbucks Coffee Master, and began reading when revising for my certification, about six months ago.
To me, Coffee Journey means constantly learning and practicing, until I’m a point to start teaching others, so they can start theirs.
Hi Melody. I’m a customer. I’ve been reading your blog over a year – when I started getting more serious with coffee and Starbucks. To me a “coffee journey” is when you go overseas to visit coffee farms and see coffee in the field. Thanks!
I’m a customer who has been reading this blog for awhile. Tasting a coffee and going through all of its notes sip by sip is part of what coffee journey means to me – the second part has to do with the region it comes from and the process it goes through before it makes it into the consumer’s life.
My “Coffee Journey” – from store to store, from cup to cup, from post to post (Starbucks melody blog posts of course), and from little coffee knowledge to much… Thank you for helping me on my coffee journey
– a customer and 2 year reader from Canada (and visitor to many WA/Seattle stores)
Melody to my ears coffee is to me. I am a loving SB customer and the true is that I just subscribe to S.B.M. a week ago. However, a Coffee Journey to me means finding the coffee (smell, taste, and appearance) and the special spot to sit that are able to relax my mind and take it to a beautiful place away from everyday’ struggles.
Hi Melody, I’m a customer following your blog over a year now. My “coffee journey” began with a Keurig coffee machine gift from my sister and progressed to where I now make my own cold brew with Starbucks beans, of course!
Coffee Journey to me is the path that is taken by our coffee blend from beginning to me. The Country where the bean is grown, the harvest of the beans, the shipping of the beans, the roasting of the beans, the grinding of the beans and then the purchase of the beans. Of course there is the perking of bean and then the filling of my order either in a coffee house or my house. I have been following you for over a year and am a customer.
I am a new reader, and forever customer turned partner, once again, returning to the company after 8 years. My journey is discovering new tastes and aromas, shared experiences with friends and loved ones and new people I meet along the way. It will always be a love that runs deep and to my core.
Hi Melody, My name is Terry and I am a customer. Coffee journey means to me stopping at “every” Starbucks I pass, whether a free standing store, or in a Target, Barnes & Nobles, or Highway rest stop. All to try every different type of amazing coffee that may be offered. – 6 month reader.
Hi Melody!
I am a customer 🙂

While now a customer, I was a partner from 1996-2014. Reader from the beginning. My Coffee Journey was jumpstarted by lots of passionate partners, and we spent time daily learning. Unfortunately, it now seems like there is less energy spent on coffee knowledge every year.
Long time customer and follower of the blog. My journey seems to be just watching the changes made over the years and discovering new fantastic Reserve coffees.
Love this opportunity! I’m Lisa, former partner-now-very-loyal customer. 🙂 I have been reading your blog for about 2 years. As one other other mentioned, mostly a lurker at first… now I read intently and try to comment the same. Coffee journey? For me, it is all about the “traveling” through coffee. I LOVE learning about why this tastes the way it does, and how the different growth regions affect the final product. The icing on the cake is learning how to prepare and experience the perfect cup.
Hi, I’m a new reader and a customer. Coffee journey to me means discovering new tastes, smells, and blends and broadening horizons in the coffee world.
Hiya! I’m a customer, and one-year email subscriber. My Coffee Journey is one of history, watching my parents adore it daily. My first dates with my husband were also over coffee, 16 years ago. It is now daily special moment that grounds me (no pun intended). Started with Maxwell House 16 years ago, to the good stuff now!

I’m a partner and I’ve been reading your blog for about a year. Coffee journey for me is spreading my coffee master knowledge with my coworkers. Helping family members find the perfect coffee 3000 miles away and of course having coffee tastings and trying new reserves with my wife. Also it’s fun to learn every coffees story.
I’m a customer and a longtime reader of yours. My coffee journey (or my journey to coffee) started with enjoying spicy hot chocolate, which led me to prefer caffè mocha, which led me to fall for my first brewed coffee: Christmas Blend, which I’ve loved since the early 1990s. Though there are other coffee blends I’ll seek during the year, I always stock up on my favorite this season.
I’m a partner who has been reading your blog for a year now. Coffee journey to me means going from just drinking coffee however you could get it to learning about growing regions processing methods and how to taste coffee and know what good coffee is.
My coffee journey began 16 yrs ago when I started at Starbucks. I am a tea drinker. I didn’t like the smell of coffee, or the taste of coffee. I now love the smell but as of yet, do not drink it. Time will tell!
Partner
I’m a customer and I’ve been following it for a while. Coffee Journey means to pick up daily coffee at Starbucks to me.
Technically not a partner, I work at a licensed store. Been following for 2 years. Coffee journey to me is always finding ways to better myself as a barista, leader, team member. Rather its sharing about the different roast profiles or getting to know our guests. There’s always a way to better yourself, journey is never ending.
I am a customer, following for about six months. My coffee journey is the understanding that being caffeinated makes me a more productive worker and a better mom, at least until my children start sleeping through the night!

Hello, my name is Colin and I’m a Starbucks customer living in Houston, Texas. I consider myself to be newer audience to your blog and I’ve been enjoying it for maybe the last 6 months.
I think the phrase ‘Coffee Journey’ is an ongoing search to absorb as much about the coffee that I enjoy. I find each of the Starbucks Reserve coffees very fascinating and enjoying tasting each coffee in various brew methods. I always look forward to the next offering from the Roastery.
My name is Brian, I am over 18, and I am a customer. I have been following your blog for awhile. Coffee journey is to experience the world by different taste profiles from various coffee blends. I have a Canadian address.
I have been following you for more than a year now. I am a customer. Coffee journey for me has been going from hating the smell of coffee, to the point of gagging sometimes!) to being able to have a cup of coffee with only a little cream in it!
Customer – new(ish) reader: twelve to eighteen months. My coffee journey is taking me from a young teen saying “I grew up in Seattle, so of course I like coffee,” to a somewhat older “child” learning to understand and appreciate the regions, roasts, origins and blends. It is a journey from superficial to one of depth and understanding. It’s a long but worthwhile journey.
I am a long time customer and have been following your blog for many years. My personal Coffee Journey is continually trying new blends of coffee and exciting and adventurous coffee and food pairings. Tasting a new blend is always an exciting time.
