The Seattle Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room turns one year old today! Happy first birthday!
December 5, 2014, Howard Schultz opened the doors to the Roastery at 8:00 AM. The opening moment photo (featuring Howard Schultz) in that article was taken by my friend, Brad Kovach, who was the first customer in line!

There’s new merchandise at the Roastery. If you’re dropping by soon, take a look at the new mugs:
^ That mug is designed to remind you of the clacker board at the Roastery, which displays the “Now Roasting” information:
The classic Roastery mug now comes in a smaller 3-ounce size. It’s not obvious what it’s size is without the larger 8-ounce mug next to it:
And of course there are more mugs with fancy designs: (Some of them have the star/ R logo underneath the handle).
The “Field Notes” now come in a rainbow-array of colors. The little “Field Notes” are blank journals, popular as a way to track coffee education and tastings:

I’m from the east coast but am in Seattle every December playing at Jazz Alley. Last year was insane, first a 10-20 minute wait to get *into* the Roastery, then another 10-20 minute wait to order, then 10-15 minutes to get served – at least that’s what I experienced the few times I went. This year was much better, though I only went twice in the five days I was in Seattle. $13 for a croissant & cup of coffee is something I can’t do that often! And parking ain’t that easy either!
