This year, Starbucks will be launching Anniversary Blend K-Cups® into their lineup. They will be available on September 4, 2012. The whole K-Cup line up is fairly new for Starbucks, and was first introduced about one year ago. For those who do not know, K-Cups are designed for use in a Keurig coffee maker. I think this will be good news for Keurig coffee maker enthusiasts. As for myself, honestly, I am ambivalent. I don’t own a Keurig machine, so there’s almost nothing I can say about the cup of coffee produced by it. The pour over brew method still seems to me like the easiest thing in the world for a great cup of coffee. But I really would imagine that K-Cups fan will think this is good news!
I must have some readers who own a Keurig coffee maker! I noticed that Starbucks has a promo right now offering a $5.00 Starbucks gift card when you buy multiple packs of K-Cups in one transaction. Take a look at this: Starbucks K-Cup Promotion ending September 30, 2012. Notice that you can also enter a giveaway for a year’s supply of Starbucks® K-Cup® packs.
Are there any Keurig fans reading this? What do you think of Anniversary Blend as a K-Cup offering? (I’m tempted to say that Anniversary Blend would make a great Via but that’s a little bit sacrilegious.)

Oh yay! I’m excited about this! I’ve had my Keurig since last Christmas. 🙂 Can’t wait to get some Anniversary Blend K-cups! 😀
I own a Keurig…I got one for Christmas 🙂 It’s not my favorite method of brewing…and I always think that everyone else’s Keurig works better than mine, which may or may not actually be true! Anyway I use it a TON during the week…and I when I don’t want to have to clean up. It does make a pretty good cup of coffee and you cannot deny the convenience, even over a pour-over method.
I’m definitely glad to hear about the k cups in Anniversary Blend. They have had a pretty limited selection of k cups and so I keep having to switch between Sumatra and Verona. I even have a box of the Pike Place ones just to try so I can see if it would be better than the whole beans (I’m doubtful…I’m not a fan of PPR at all!) So you can see how desperate I was for some other k cups!!!!
I still prefer to have my coffee brewed or just grab it at Starbucks….until I finally have my first Clover experience someday!!! I will pick up both versions of Anniversary blend the whole bean and the k cups because I regularly use both 🙂
Our store only sells 12 packs and the offer is for 10’s or 16’s. Is that grocery store packaging? It drives me nuts when we have sales goals that must be met and then a promo comes along that doesn’t encourage potentially new customers to come check us out.
Yes, I agree that our store only sells the 12 or 16 K cup packs too.
I will try the Anniversary Blend if I see it in stock. I love my Keurig and use it for convenience and it does make a decent cup of coffee but Starbucks packs are very overpriced and there are some great blends out there that are cheaper and I can buy online to get a better price.
I own a Keurig. The coffee produced is honestly really good. No room for error, and the convenience is great, That special must be in the US only, because as of now we only have 12 packs here in Canada.
It’s amazing how quickly we’re selling through our Anniversary K-cups! I think more so than our Whole Bean! What a great move by Starbucks.
Wish they had the k cups for sale on line at the Starbucks store. Only able to get the anniversary blend in the local Starbucks store. It strange their coffee and they are not available there. Wish the annerversary blend was a regular product all the time. Not many k cups in bold dark favor available. This is by far the best yet.
I agree with Katy. This by far the best yet Starbucks coffee available in K cups. I too hope they will make it a regular product. Starbucks also needs to do some decaf K Cups – a variety including a strong blend would be nice.
@Gordon: Sbux does make decaf House Blend and decaf PPR 🙁 in K cups. I was sent a box of the decaf House (thank God not PPR) ! So, they’re in existence.
I (much earlier) got a few Sumatra also…..
I would like to be able to purchase the anniversary blend all year!!!!! It is my favorite. I can’t afford the kcups, so I purchased the beans and had to wash my kcup for my machine. but love this coffee first thing in the morning.
