Tucked away in South Orange County, there is a Starbucks offering Clover – Reserve coffee, beer and wine, and a small selection of unique foods. There are actually very few of the “Evenings” Starbucks so I definitely want to shine a spotlight on this location. I visited on June 25, 2013, and met the manager Craig.

In case you are curious, this store has been at this location for just about 13 years – its grand opening was November 18, 2000.
I tried to get a good photo of the Clover. In California, it appears to be the law that these plastic barriers must separate you from the Clover. You don’t see these in Seattle. It has one Clover and I’m told they do very well:
Craig and I did a coffee tasting of the Panama Carmen Estate and chatted for a bit. I thought this was awesome: in June this year, the stores in this district collected over 5,000 bags of at-home coffee (whole bean and Via) and gave it to the troops at Camp Pendleton, a nearby Marine Corps base:
This is a fairly large store, with long bench seating (with a mural behind it), a community table, and an area in the back with a table and tall chairs. The back area seating has a very cool wall made out of wine boxes:

Really nice store and also like the entrance. I guess that is a typical sort of CA entrance! It would be nice to have an Evenings store around here as another option.
@purple1 – Yeah I thought the entrance looks very quintessential Southern California too. The thing that makes me excited about an evening store is the option of having the “small plate” menus. You really have a wider variety of foods when you are at an evening store! Chocolate fondue – yum!
My favorite Starbucks (Brewery Blocks in Portland, Orgeon) is an evenings/Clover store too! I don’t know if its a trend with evenings stores, but all the beer offered the last time I was there was from local Portland breweries. If that’s the normal, that all the beer is local to each evenings store, that’s pretty neat!
I did have the chocolate fondue, it was fantastic! My favorite part was that the fondue itself was served in a chocolate cookie bowl, which was delicious to eat after finishing, with all the fondue on it. I also remember sampling a flatbread, I think it was spinach Alfredo, that was a delicious evenings exclusive, and the menu had quite a few other things, such as a truffle Mac n cheese and bacon-wrapped dates with balsamic glaze. I wish my store were an evenings one!

@BaristaMatt – Oh I like the flatbreads! I have heard gossip that the Lucky Dozen Rewards somehow work for the flatbreads (though they’re not supposed to?).
I’ve visited this store a couple times, but a few years ago before it got the amazing remodel. Great pictures!
@Melody That would be neat! As far as I know, there are no evenings stores in my state so I can’t check. I have heard that the Lucky Dozen aren’t suposed to work on the evenings foods. And, Partner discount cannot be applied to beer/wine (but it will work on the evenings foods!).
