Starbucks is testing out two new holiday beverages right now: the Chestnut Praline Latte and the Cherries Jubilee Mocha. If your local Starbucks has one of those beverages, then it’s likely missing either the Gingerbread Latte or the Eggnog Latte. These are just “test” beverages, meaning that they are not available nationwide!
The Cherries Jubilee Mocha appears to be the smaller test of the two, and is available in limited areas of Florida (Orlando and Tampa). It’s a mocha with cherry syrup, and it calls for a little cocoa powder on top, and a some special cherry drizzle. Take a look at these great pictures of this drink:
The Chestnut Praline Latte appears to be a little bit more widespread test. I’ve heard that it is available in parts of Indianapolis, parts of Wichita, Omaha, and somewhere in Maryland (Baltimore) and a number of Midwest cities.. The Chestnut Praline test beverage is a latte with Chestnut Praline syrup, and topped with whipped cream and spiced pralines bits and pieces.
The Chestnut Praline Latte doesn’t look nearly as sweet at the Cherries Jubilee Mocha (which probably makes a nice Frappuccino too!).
The reader who submitted the above sign wrote, “It’s my new favorite latte. Not overpoweringly sweet – just perfect.”
Unfortunately, I haven’t tried either of these two new test holiday beverages. I think I would enjoy the Chestnut Praline Latte especially! I hope you will weigh in on what you think of them!

This is seriously my new favorite drink when pumpkin was available I was getting the chestnut praline frappuccino 1 pump of pumpkin not blended. Not I just go in order it as a frapp just not blend since they don’t have the pumpkin anymore 🙁 Still delicious sad though the stopped advertising it so I am literately the only person ordering it like I asked them and I am the only person in my town getting it at there starbucks makes me sad cause its so good I want them to have it next year.
I’m in Baltimore, and when I found out about the Cheatnut Praline (only by asking the barista what her favorite was, it wasn’t advertised at all!) it became my favorite immediately. So good, especially the praline pieces sprinkled on top. Yesterday (Feb 28th) was the last day for the chestnut praline. So upsetting. It really was incredible.
I lucked out and was able to purchase the syrup from my starbucks the last bottle 🙂 it wasn’t easy but I will be doing some experimenting to see if I can get the taste right 🙂
worked as a partner in Toledo, OH last holiday. the chestnut praline latte was so …so very good. I’m really hoping they bring it back for the winter 2014. Now that I’m in California….i just hope i get one this year
Had the Cherries Jubilee last year at Epcot in Disney. Far and away the best Starbucks I’ve ever had.
Why do some of the coffee drinks on the web page show ingredients and some don’t?
For example this one does: http://www.starbucks.com/menu/drinks/bottled-drinks/espresso-and-cream-doubleshot?foodZone=9999
But this one does not:
http://www.starbucks.com/menu/drinks/bottled-drinks/starbucks-low-calorie-iced-coffee?foodZone=9999
I bought two bottles of the latter in the store the other day, and nowhere on the front does it say Low Calorie and what’s worse it’s sweetened with sucralose which has been found to cause a variety of harmful biological effects on the body.
Why so opaque with the ingredients? I was surprised Starbucks even uses that stuff in any product. Wonder if the ingredients will be available for this new drink. Will it have artificial sweetener too?
I love the chestnut praline…first time for me…would be happier
if syrup bottles were available for customer purchase!!!!!!!!!
@S Baldo
You can purchase the Chestnut Praline syrup at http://store.starbucks.com if you live in the US.
You can actually buy the syrup from most stores as well. 🙂 I buy the ones I like but have not figured out how make at home. They are like thirteen dollars.
I wish cherries jubilee at Starbucks would be available again. I am disappointed it won’t be available this year!! I really LOVED IT
