Starting on September 2, 2014, you’ll find some beautiful new Starbucks cards at your neighborhood store. The new autumn seasonal cards include four cards (in the shape of leaves) that can be used as key chain cards, and one traditional card. The one traditional (rectangular) card has a coffee cup with leaves like steam above it. I really like the card with the coffee cup and leaves as steam! Actually, I think all the new cards are very pretty. I personally wouldn’t use a key chain card but I do think they’re pretty.
As always, you can use any Starbucks card to earn and redeem all your MyStarbucksRewards perks – so register your card! Here’s the new seasonal cards:
If you want to learn a little more about registering a Starbucks card, click here. Earlier this year I wrote a quick article summarizing the benefits of registering a Starbucks card (and it still almost entirely contains good information – one thing has changed since I wrote that article here, there are now bonus stars for buying at-home coffee at Starbucks.)
You may soon see a Seahawks fan card available in Seattle Starbucks stores, and some greater-Seattle locations. It’s a “12th Man” type card. When you remove the sticker that says “It’s more than a card…” you’ll find the Seahawks logo underneath it. I have a feeling these cards will go quickly:
So if you’re a Starbucks card collector, be on the lookout for these great cards!
Now is a good time to mention that if you’re a Starbucks collector, there will be a Starbucks “Coffee Con” on October 10th and 11th. I assume there will be lots of people with booths who are selling and trading collectibles. I’ll have a booth too and you’ll find me there with a stack of Tales of the Siren books (I’ll take payment in the form of Starbucks cards. One $10 Starbucks card equals buying a book.)

I like the leaf cards. But I get really nervous using shaped cards , I have know clue why.
STARBUCKS COFFEE CON!!! Why do I live in Ohio 🙁
Love the card with cup and swirling leaves. But I really wish Starbucks would show some love to all the other sports cities that support them. Kinda makes me cringe a little when I see the Seattle teams get their own cards and nobody else does.
I agree with Becky E. I want to see a little more diversity in the cards. (I may be biased because I want our Texas cards back!)
I have a couple of the keychain cards on my key ring. Mostly I keep them there just so I can have some pretty to look at. 🙂
Looks like a little something for almost everyone.
I sure hope that the Seahawks card does not show up on eBay and CraigsList before the it is in the stores.
Melody, you are becoming the consummate entrepreneur and keeping on the leading edge by accepting an alternate form of currency, Starbucks Cards 😉
@DadCooks – LOL – It’ll be the honor system! I have no way to check the balance of any Starbucks card that gets handed to me, but you know in my book it is a form of currence!
@Claire @Becky E – I get the idea of wanting to see a greater variety of teams on Starbucks cards. My heart understands why Starbucks does this – It’s showing hometown love.
Melody, I get the reason why Starbucks thinks it’s good to show hometown love. But being such a huge company I think it should spread it around since we outsiders have been very supportive but many times come up on the short end of the love.
DadCooks, I’m not surprised to see that there are already several auctions for that card on ebay.
I am still waiting for the Seahawks Super Bowl Champions card you told us about months ago. Do you have any update on when it will be released?
I’ve given up trying to find the limited edition cards at my one company owned Starbucks in my town. I may live on the Oregon border with Washington, but we get none of the swag that the state up to the North gets (I can literally see Washington from my window). So now I’ve enlisted my brother who works in Seattle to get these for me. But according to him, Seahawks fans are crazy and will gobble these Seahawks cards quick. I’ve missed out on all the ones released before so I’m really hoping to score this one this time.
Die-hard Seahawks fan that lives in the San Diego that doesn’t get the opportunity to get up to Seattle that much. It would be awesome to be able to go online to Starbucks and be able to order a Seahawks gift card so I could then load the card on my phone account account and see my team logo everytime I order. Starbucks please make this happen OK?! I could provide my address to have one mailed to also, just let me know. Thanks SDmedicSeahawksFan4Life!
Question for you:
I have a pretty significant collection from the original City Mug series. I’m talking about the early 90’s series. Is there a market out there (or even through your site) where interested people would be interested? I’m not going to eBay or Craigslist them. They deserve better. 🙂
