Starbucks operates a partner store at their Seattle headquarters. This is a place where partners (employees) can go buy really cool stuff with the Starbucks logo all over it. My understanding is that there is also a partner store online, though since I’m not partner, I have never seen it. I don’t know if the online partner store carries the same items as the physical store inside the corporate headquarters. If you love Starbucks enough that you want the famous green siren logo displayed on everything from the pens you write with to the watch you wear, then the partner store might make your toes curl with joy.
The stuff that is available for purchase in the partner store changes now and then, as promotions and seasons change. You might find the logo on mugs, vests, book bags, laptop cases, pens, magnets, keychains, t-shirts, hoodies, and of course you can buy a green apron at the partner store. You cannot buy the famous black apron coffee master at the partner store – The only way to get that is to earn it. I assume that when Howard’s new book comes out, that too will be available at the partner store. Maybe there will be signed copies there! Hahaha! I guess if you work there you can always say, “Hey Howard would you sign my book.”
On two separate occasions I’ve had the incredible good luck to go shopping inside the partner store at the headquarters. Trust me, I didn’t earn this. Obviously Starbucks can say “no” to my request to shopping at the partner store (well, obvious Starbucks can say “no” to anything I request of them). But as good luck would have it, I bought a couple of things there. It’s more like a mini shopping spree for me because I never know if I’ll ever be back to the partner store. Of all the knick knacks and assorted items available at the partner store, it’s the pens that make me the most happiest. I use a lot of pens all the time. My briefcase is full of them. The Starbucks logo-ed pens are distinctly mine. When I’m up in court and I’ve left a pen laying around with the green Siren on it, I know it’s mine when I come back to it. This week in court a friendly attorney came up to me, holding a Starbucks pen, and said, “Melody, this must be yours.” That about says it all.
I don’t promise that any of the items shown below will be available in the partner store, if you’re a partner shopping there, because their inventory changes. But just for fun, here are a few logo-ed Starbucks things: (Thank you again to Molly of Seattle Custom Framing for taking these pictures)

That looks like the same stuff from the online store. I did just notice they have laptop skins on there, but the only design left is the art from the Organic Shade Grown Mexico stamp/former packaging.
@GreyGhostX – Thanks for letting me know. I had always wondered that!
Great post on the partner store. It is sort of funny with all these brands opening stores- Disney, etc. that SB does not open stores in malls or in Times Square. I guess they figure one it is a benefit for their employees and two they can sell their stuff online or in the stores. How many pens do you have Melody? That was so nice that the attorney gave you back your pen! I wonder if partners can suggest items that the SB logo can be put on?
Hey Melody, it seems you spent a lot of bucks on Sbux’s Stuffs…:-)
I love the Partner Gear site 🙂 so much cool stuff!!! But the shipping is outrageous! Last year I bought a skin for my iPhone. I think it was like 7 or 8 $. But the shipping was 11$! I thought this was a bit ridiculous and so much waste! It was basically a glorified sticker and it came is a box that was like 10 x 10 x 10. it could of just as easily been shipped to me in an envelope for a fraction of the cost. Besides the shipping issue though, I love the Partner Gear site.
LOVE all that stuff. I would LOVE to have access, too! You are lucky to have been.
@deniser – Yes you’re right! Starbucks has been good to me in many many ways. A couple of “no”s to things I wanted but a couple of “yes”s too! I need to be good to them back! Sometimes I worry that I’m not nice enough to them on the blog!!
@Francesco – Welcome to the blog! Yep! It’s always a shopping spree when I’m there! Seriously, overstocked on Starbucks stuff? Call Melody. Problem solved!
The store is very good. I purchased some T-shirts from starbucksstore.com last year. But starbucksstore.com releases only some products. And there is the thing that I sometimes find the cool stuff in e-Bay. LOL
I want starbucksstore.com to release more partner store products.
By the way, do you remember that? I got the super Cool bag from you. That is my treasure now!
I want “new Howard’s signed copies”. Is the coupon attached to the book, too? 😀
Hey! I’m wearing that stylish watch today!
Melody- I think you are totally fair and open to both sides of issues and tell it like it is. SB needs to hear all sides and one of the problems with MSI is there is too much of the corporate line so to speak. One of the best things about your blog is the fact that you tell it the way it is!
That stuff is so cool I love the pens and the keychain! It’s like a student store for Starbucks!
AH! I would LOVE to get a chance to shop there. I pretty much would buy everything pictured. I wish I had a way to do exactly that!!! <3
Melody: You are NOTHING but a plus to Sbux. for sure.
Off the subject a bit, but Melody has SB ever sent you an email asking you to not write about something in particular?
Great pictures. Do you have a Starbucks mouse pad? 😉
Love going to the coffeegear website for stuff. I have a few mugs and ceramic coffee tasting cups in my cupboard from that website. And I’ve seen friends with a spiffy Breakfast Blend iphone cover. 🙂
That is like a paradise for a Merch-Geek like me…I love merch about the companies I love.
But WHY THE HELL is this store only for partners?! Why cannot anybody come and shop there?! Or did I understand that wrong?
This stuff is damn sexy…:D
PS: I can’t wait for Howard’s new book…
@purple1 @JasonCoffee and @Sebastian –
@Purple1 – That’s a hard question. Let’s just say that one lesson I’ve learned from this blog is that Starbucks hates it if someone manages to steal their thunder. The kinds of blog entries that they are annoyed with are probably any posts that deal with ‘coming soon’ products or beverages. However, I don’t work for them, and I’d lose my sense of credibility if I didn’t write things or didn’t post things just because they might not like it. I intentionally keep this blog postitive, and if talking about forthcoming stuff, it’s almost always upbeat buzz: But if I wrote only what they sanctioned, there would be no point to this blog. You can go to a corporate blog for that.
@Sebastian – I love the phrase “Merch-Geek”!! That’s me too!! It’s hard not to buy one of everything in the partner store. If I had had more time (I was hosted by a partner who had to get back to her work) I would have spent a lot more. The partner store makes me crazy. CRAZY. Like I drool and just grab things!!!!!!!!!! You would go nuts in there too.
@Jason – Yes. I’ve got a Starbucks mousepad somewhere. I have a MyStarbucksIdea pad which is nearly worn out, and that makes me sad!
To be honest, I didn’t even know there was a partner store (at the headquarters or online). I’ll have to check the online one out. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that just like StarbucksStore.com, they won’t ship to Canada.
Melody agree with your response to my question about SB censoring anything you might write. Thanks for the response. Enjoy your vacation!
I have always found it interesting the variety of branded products available from Starbucks and how there does not seem to be a connection between what they sell Partners and what they sell customers. I agree that customers would really like to see more of these types of things made available for purchase. It is almost as if the store merchandising team is disconnected from the group that runs this operation.
On a related note, have you ever been to a Starbucks Outlet store? I think I read once on SG that SBUX has outlet stores. What types of things do they offer there?
Oh! some of those pens are really nice
i am surprised they do not sell more customer logo’d items online, but i think it is nice they have certain employee only items
i’m sad to hear about the awful shipping prices though
SB outlet stores? Never knew they existed. Where?
I *must* find a Starbucks keychain! 🙂
@Nathan – http://www.starbuckscoffeegear.ca/ – FTW!
We’re getting close to the annual release of Joy, that limited release tea that is amazing. Anyone aware of when it will be available either in the stores or online? Great Blog.

There was a Starbucks Outlet opened in Ontario Mills Mall in Southern California for a short time…its sole purpose was to sell merchandise taken from the Starbucks store closures in the area to liquidate them. I heard a couple remarks about how the outlet store had a supply of the reusable plastic Frappuccino cups while they were sold out region wide. (and why couldn’t they have been re-distributed?)
