Have you ever wondered where every single Starbucks with a Clover brewer is located? This blog post attempts to answer that question. Once upon a time, Starbucks maintained a web site called www.CloverCrafted.com which listed every Clover Starbucks location. That site has changed into a blog type site, and now no longer has its own list of Clover stores. There is no way to go to the Starbucks store locator and simply say “show me every store in the whole corporation with a Clover.”
Looking for a Clover/ Reserve Coffee store? I’m going to try and blog them all here (as best I can). Keep in mind, part of what is significant about these Clover stores is that any Starbucks with a Clover brewer also receives “Reserve” coffees, and so the partners (Starbucks calls their employees “partners”) and customers have access to a wider variety of whole bean choices than at a typical Starbucks.
Before I list all the Starbucks with Clovers, I recommend also visiting this blog post for a review of Clover stores in downtown Seattle:

What store do you believe deserves a Clover brewer and why? Please email me if you have any corrections for me. Sbux206@StarbucksMelody.com.
* Before you visit a Starbucks that you think has a Clover, call ahead. Starbucks has been known to pull Clovers from stores and not update the store locator right away.
[[Edit on 6-20-10: Removed the location in Swampscott, Mass. I have heard that the Clover has been pulled from that store though as I write this, it is still listed on the Starbucks store locator.]]
[Edit on 8-4-2010: I added the Mill Valley location, Gold River, and added the Savannah, GA store. I have heard that there are two Clovers in New Jersey but not sure of their exact addresses.]
[Edit on 8-21-2010: Removed the listing for the Clover in Cambridge, Mass, Starbucks at “Shephard Post” since that has been removed from the store]
[Edit on 1-19-2011: Added the Pioneer Square Starbucks, 4th and Seneca, and Olive Way Starbucks location in Seattle. Added the Studio City, California store. Added the Starbucks in Madison, NJ and Englewood, NJ. Added the Washington, DC store. Added the Bronxville, NY store]
[Edit on 3-26-11: Added the Irvine, Calif & Dallas, Texas Clover stores, plus added some more NYC stores, and Calif stores, plus more! There are now (as I write this) about 140 Clover Starbucks stores, and I haven’t really been able to keep on how quickly Starbucks is adding new Clovers. I have roughly a little more than half of them listed here. Though if you want me to add a Clover location, I will still gladly edit based on emails to me.]
[Edit 3-27-11 – Added the Greenwich, CT store. Also, I’d note that when I first started this blog post (June 2010) Starbucks Clover stores offered “small batch coffees.” Later in August 2010, these were re-branded as the “Starbucks Reserve Coffee” offerings, and are still the more rare, smaller batch availability coffees.]
[Edit on 4-5-11 – Added the Northwest Mem. Hosp store in Chicago and several other Chicago stores, and 8th floor SSC store. The 8th Floor SSC store in Seattle is not open to the public.]
[Edit on 5–11 Added the Healdsburg, Calif Starbucks – Thank you to blog reader Lorene for verifying that one. Can’t find it on the store locator at this time. Added the Santa Rosa store – appears to be a Barnes & Noble store with a Clover! Added Somerville, MA store.]
[Edit on 5-26-2011 Added the Park Ridge, IL Starbucks]
[Edit on 6-11-11 Added 2 Portland, OR Starbucks, New Rochelle, NY and a Marina Del Ray, CA Starbucks, and fixed some of the links]
[Edit on 6-25-11 Corrected info for Brookline, MA Starbucks. More additions.]
[Edit 7-2-11 Added Burbank, Ca Clover Starbucks and Olympia, WA]
I have stopped adding to this edit list because I am constantly updating this article, and it is getting too long.
[Edit on 8-2-2013 – This is not a complete list of Clover stores! I do add to it now and then as people send me emails or add comments about new Clovers. I just added the new La Jolla Clover in California, and the new Clover St. Louis store – on Grand Avenue.]

[…] Melody Where are all the Starbucks Clover stores? Melody attempts to find all of the Starbucks stores with a Clover espresso machine, the high end […]
GREAT thread Melody! you can do (apparently) so much more then Sbux can! We were told last yr that we wouldn have 250 (nationally) Clover stores added this year. Sadly, that never happened. I just can’t see why a city as huge as Chicago can’t have more than TWO Clover stores. Thanx for the thread! excellent information, as usual.
Thank you Melody. When I travel I always try and find where the local clover store is, if there is one, so that I can get a small batch coffee. I don’t travel very often but this is a big thing (I would even choose a closer hotel!) for me.
I have found the websites (all of them) sadly lacking in helping me find the starbucks I want. If not for twitter I would not have gotten to go to the NYC clover location and had the hawaii kona.
You are more an advocate for starbucks and their coffees than whomever has designed there store locator application, thanks for helping all the other addicts out!
Thanks for this information Melody. You are just a wealth of information.
Wow, this is really helpful! ( Having a Clover Yirgacheffe is a must!)
I too am so amazed at how much knowledge you share with your readers. Melody, it is wonderful to read. Question- since I am not a coffee drinker, is the clover machine only used for coffee or can small batches of tea be made? That would be so nice. Also, how does SB decide where they put a clover store?
I do agree that Southlake, TX should have one. I’ve actually been to that store before too! The company I work for held 2 annual meetings in Grapevine, TX a couple of years back. My husband and I also stayed in Grapevine/ Southlake on a trip we took to Louisiana. I love the area! Thanks for the update, I’ll make a note to stop if ever in these cities!
Oregon has two Clover stores? And we can’t get one in Atlanta?!? Starbucks, please spoil me and install a Clover at your Alpharetta Crossing location in Alpharetta, GA.
OMG! I love you, Melody! You mentioned my and Skooter’s store! We <3 coffee and would really try our best to sell as many Clover USDs to support the machine! We have a few customers who didn't know about the Clover and travel to places which do, and they said they would get it all the time if we had it! (Sorry for the run-on sentences!)
@Hayley I think I follow you on twitter. Where are you from? I thought it was El Paso! I may have served you coffee before. (Note, there are 3 Starbucks cafes in Southlake! One is in the Town Center, another is across the street from White Chapel Church [that's my store!] and the other is at the Gateway Plaza near Grapevine.)
I’ve been looking all over for a list like this. THANK YOU for making something. I wish Starbucks would have made something like this a long time ago.
@Harrison and @CamSpi – Thanks for your comments! I think I have a couple of problems in Massachussetes that I need to fix, but other than that it’s a pretty good list. It makes me realize that there are far few Clovers than what I initially thought.
This is excellent information – thanks for putting it together Melody.
It would be interesting to see where Clover had machines prior to being acquired by Starbucks. I know there were some in Chicago and it’s surprising that we only have one Starbucks Clover location in the city and only one in the suburbs. I would imagine that previous locales might provide insight into where Starbucks could find future Clover growth.
I’m thinking I’ll have to treat myself to a Clover coffee tonight for Father’s Day!
@camspi – I’m in Tucson, AZ. You’re right that we do follow each other on twitter…but you’re thinking of Hallie – she’s from El Paso. Same names but 2 different tweeters! I think she is a barista and I am just a faithful customer. You may have, I was there about 3 years in a row…about 2 years ago. I know 1 I went to was the Town Center and I know I went to another one that was not in Town Center…I know that it wasn’t the one in Grapevine Mills mall…but I went to that one too. So, the store I can’t think of may have been yours! 🙂
I was wondering if there was anything we can do as a consumer to get clover stores to come to our area? I saw that there are a lot of states that don’t even have a store with one in it. This is an extra bit of starbucks magic when you find them, but the gaps are very large.
I have the dissatisfaction, too. I was able to read the map list of the clover introduction store in a site of http://www.CloverCrafted.com, but it does not have a list now.
But, I was able to read the list in your Blog now. Thank you very much.
I saw clover by seattletimesdotcom of YouTube for the first time two years ago.

I was interested in the mysterious machine which worked. In October of the year, I watched the machine in Seattle. There was 6th and Union Street, 1420 Fifth Avenue, Seattle. The machine did mysterious movement. It looks like a inside of motor of the car. Haha. When coffee is extracted, the machine is wrapped in good aroma. Everyone will sink for temptation of the good aroma. clover is an attractive machine.
I want Starbucks to put clover to the Japanese store. I wish!
Thanks so much for this list! I’ve heard about Clover for a long time, and just assumed that they were only in Seattle. There are none anywhere close to me, but at least I’ve a better chance of stumbling on one now. 🙂 A roadtrip may be in order later this summer….
@Nob I really love the way you word things sometimes. Especially “The machine is wrapped in aroma.” I feel like that’s poetic. I love when things are wrapped with the aroma of coffee. I love getting off work at Starbucks after a long day, resting on a chair, and then caught off guard by the wonderful smell of coffee that seemed to follow me home. 🙂
Aww you guys! You’re giving me the warm and fuzzies! 🙂
There are more Clover stores than I thought! (But still not a large number.) I was completely unaware of the Illinois, Oregon, and So. Cal. stores. I remember seeing that Seattle, Boston, NY, SF, and Miami each had one (or more). Melody, the thoroughness of your research is impressive!
@purple1 it would not do tea well even if they were willing to do it, teas are meant to steep at certain temperatures, for certain lengths of time, and to expand, not be crushed, during steeping.
What a bummer that MA. has about 1000! and we have TWO!!!!!! one in the city and one in the ‘burbs……. what’s up with that? seriously, THAT many in MA???? the R coast and the L coast…… (or the 2 L coasts;)
Melody, I have never had the privilege of tasting coffee from a Clover machine. As far as I can tell there is only one independent coffee shop here in ATL that has a Clover, and I’ve not yet ventured there to try it. I hope to some day 🙂 Thanks for the list. I have long wondered where all these ‘Clovers’ were that everyone talks of so fondly!
AmazonV thanks for the info re the clover machine and tea. Since I have never seen the machine, I am not aware of how they work. I have been to tea shops where they brew individual cups of tea for you and it is quite nice. Going back to another topic for a second- Melody- reviewing any other starbucks locations?
Where is the listing for Michigan, Ohio, Indiana etc stores with Clovers? There aren’t any you say? Well, that is exactly why the midwest coffee snobs have turned their noses up at Starbucks! While we hear some rumblings here and there about how Starbucks has microlots available, and their stores with the Clover brewers are really amazing…we don’t actually get to see them. What do we get? What we do get is VIA, an abonimation to the coffee beverage, flavored coffee in supermarkets, and cookie cutter stores with no character and poorly trained staff. Perhaps if I lived in the Pacific Northwest or on Newbury street in MA, I would feel differently, but alas I do not 🙁 I will make it a point to visit one of these shops if I’m ever in the neighborhood, even though they’re a thousand miles away.
@Nate – Your post here makes a little sad, and partly because you’re absolutely right! At some point, Starbucks may over-expand the Clover, but we’re not anywhere near that yet!! The roll out has been painfully slow. And it’s not fair – you’re right – that really only a select number of Starbucks experience the tiny little Starbucks microlot coffees. They exist! Most people just don’t know that. I keep hearing rumbling that there is more expansion coming. But the market they put it in has to support it: I’m sort of amazed that Swampscott, MA lost theirs. Apparently people in Swampscott weren’t buying enough Clover coffee.
Oh to have had the list when I was in the States last winter! I stumbled across 165 Newbury in Boston, I knew that there were clovers in MA, but I had no clue where. Nice read, Melody!
Hand on heart, my vote would be to the Black Apron Exclusive Store in Shinjuku, Tokyo to have a clover. The store is devoted to speciality coffee, and is staffed only by black aprons. There’s even a separate station in the store to have one on one tastings. So I think it’d be only fitting for them to have one too – it’d fit right in!
@purple1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntbVGGMu_Ac and i agree it’s great when a store make you a nice single small pot of tea
AmazonV thanks for the link to see how the clover machine works!!! As a parent of a Stanford alumna, go Stanford for designing the clover!!!
Thank you for mentioning our store in Southlake, TX! We love our coffee and the connections we make over it! Doing a coffee tasting at the Dallas office today. Something a little different. I will let u know how it goes.
Interestingly enough, the only time I’ve had coffee from a Clover brewer was at an independent coffee shop in tiny Avila Beach, CA. I thought the coffee was amazing, but would probably had been better if it had been roasted by Starbucks.
I do think that this won’t get to a bigger audience, there aren’t many places in the U.S. where the popularity of brewed coffee is enough bigger than that of espresso or blended beverages. But Starbucks should install at least one machine in all major markets with some type of flagship store.
@ChrisW – I think your idea of a flagship store with a Clover – one in each major market – is a FABULOUS idea. In fact, I think there should be at least some small separation between it and a normal Starbucks so that it is obvious that it has a Clover. If you click on the link in this thread that goes to “Clover Coffee Episode #3” and look at the main page blog post – You see a big sign that’s right outside First and Pike. The Clover signage is so prominent. I love it.
It ELEVATES the store. I think that’s okay to elevate a few stores like that. Lots of cities could have one beacon store that is in the style of “repurposed” store design with green-friendly design features, and of course, a Clover!

I think it’s time to get a couple clovers put in Canada. Maybe just start with putting one in some of the biggest cities, like one in Vancouver and one in Toronto. Testing it in those cities would show whether there is enough demand for it or not.
Melody, I love your idea about putting Clovers into repurposed stores. My point is that no matter the sales mix of a specific market like mine (huge blended, high espresso, moderate brewed coffee), there are a number of brewed coffee connoisseurs like me who would appreciate the offerings that would accompany a Clover brewer. I order a French Press of different coffees when I’m a customer (and not working), but I’d definitely make the trek to enjoy a cup of Clover brewed goodness.
Hey Melody,
I’m a barista at 4th and Seneca and our clover is installed but we’re not ready to go with it yet. Our store is in the last few weeks of its remodel and the clover will soon be ready to go so right now its just kind of sitting there although many customers and partners are really excited about it, especially me. Theres nothing like Ethiopia Sun Dried Yirgacheffe over ice yum!
(@BaristaAkoni) – Hi there BaristaAkoni! I dropped by Fourth & Seneca on my way into my office this morning. It’s not a usual morning stop for me, but I wanted to see how your remodel was coming along. I was in at about 9:15 in the morning. Your store’s remodel is coming along nicely but there are no stools at the window bar yet. Love the woodwork panels. Saw your amazingly clean and perfect Clover! Fabulous to see it installed. And I met a friendly black apron barista at the register whom I liked: He was a really tall guy who boasted that he has “been drinking coffee since he was three, and it didn’t stunt his growth!”. I can’t wait to come back when your Clover is up and running! It’s a quick morning stop from the University Street bus tunnel.
@Melody
It’s great to see you enjoyed our story melody. Thanks for stopping by maybe I’ll see you around sometime (I was off today) The man you met behind the counter was our ASM Charles. He just started at our store about a month or two ago, he previously worked at Benaroya.
Hey Melody! Thank you thank you for posting a Clover list. That is such useful content! Guess what? I have an addition to make! There is also a Clover in the Village Roadshow Gold Class movie theater in Redmond. I was floored when I saw it ’cause I know how exclusive Clover is and the Gold Class isn’t even a Starbucks. I asked them about it (thinking about you and your blog of course!) and they told me that their Clover was a special favor from Howard b/c he likes the theater so much!
Rats! There isn’t a clover store in Missouri! I guess I’ll just have to move to Portland!
There are 2 non-Starbucks, Clover coffee shops in Minnesota:
Kopplin’s Coffee in St. Paul ( http://kopplinscoffee.com ) and Rustica Bakery in Minneapolis ( http://www.rusticabakery.com ).
There is a new Clover store in Marin. It will be openning with a remodel this Saturday. This Clover store is located in the heart of Mill Valley.
Address: 45 Camino Alto Mill Valley, CA. 94941
Phone # 415-388-1811
Hi Crystal – Thank you for the information. I added the Mill Valley location, and also added in the Savannah, GA store – I had been meaning to add that store for a while.
Welcome to the blog, and I hope you will poke around at some of the other blog posts too. I appreciate the efforts to help me keep this list at least someone correct. Thanks!
Hi Melody. Just for the sake of your recordkeeping, MA has another Clover store! I really didn’t know we were so populated with them, since I spend most of my time at my regular store. Anyways…
Wellesley
68A Central Street
Wellesley, MA 02482
Thanks again for your awesome blog!
I’m shocked and saddened there isn’t one Clover store in the Silicon Valley area except for the one on University Avenue in Palo Alto. What about Santa Clara and Sunnyvale, where all the big technology corporations the likes of Intel and Adobe are headquartered? Don’t we get at least one Clover? (Reaching for a Kleenex.)
Don’t make us waste gas on Highway 280 or 101 on a pilgrimage to Mecca (the Clover store on University Avenue). Please annoint a Starbucks (preferably in San Jose where I live) as our Clover store!
In Minneapolis Minnesota there are several fine independents, two of which have Clovers, but I find my favorite coffee method is the very inexpensive Hario pour-over, along with a super good single origin bean. Possibly Clover would be better if I had it made with the right bean for it. I’ll be trying it again when I’m in their neighborhoods. Chemex and Siphon should be explored by any coffee nut, as well. Don’t despair if there is no Clover near you!
Just an update- am in Cambridge MA and went to the starbucks on Mass Ave (Shepard Post) and was anxious to get a clover cup of coffee for my husband. They took away the clover machine!!! Wonder why SB decided to remove it? Not enough traffic?
That’s surprising they pulled the plug on your Clover machine after reading this article:
The Coffee Fix: Can the $11,000 Clover Machine Save Starbucks?
http://www.wired.com/gadgets/miscellaneous/magazine/16-08/mf_clover
The article describes this marvelous technology as producing “custom-made coffee that’s Jessica Alba hot, Bill Gates rich, and as unique as a snowflake. No foam. No caramel. No whip. Just beans and water — pushed through a cool little machine called the Clover — for a pricey $4 a pop.”
If I won the state lotto, I’d buy a Clover machine for my kitchen. 🙂
I was disappointed to learn today that the local SB I frequent most often will not be getting a clover. I wish they would add one in this store. I still am somewhat perplexed as to what stores are considered clover ready.
Sitting at a SB on 75th Street and 1st Ave in Manhattan enjoying a cup of 100% Kona brewed on their new Clover during a cloudy fall day.
Wow, you’re in the Vatican City of Capitalism in a Clover store on a wi-fi connection (a probability of less than 0.0001% for the world population). Nice. I gather you stocked up on Galapagos Islands reserve?
Dallas just got its first Clover – Knox/Henderson store off Central Expressway. Should be up and running within the next 2 weeks once store personnel are trained.
