Previously, I wrote about the Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade test being featured in a large number of stores. Not all Starbucks have this beverage since it is in the testing phase only. A regular reader of this blog sent me some photos of a store with displays for the Tazo Tea test. It’s interesting to see how those stores have very different displays and merchandise than what is currently in other Starbucks. Notice in one of the photos, some kind of tea pot with cups appears to be for sale in the merchandise. Notice that the Tazo Chai tea concentrate is back, (and available at all stores, I think) which hasn’t been sold in stores for year. One photo shows off unique packaging for the Tazo tea bags designed for purchase by customers who want to make iced tea at home.
I don’t have a lot to say about the photos, but I thought my readers would enjoy seeing them here. Thank you very very much to the person who sent me all of these pics! And for those who are interested, I have a whole category about test products here. To me, it’s fascinating looking at things like a Pink Lime Frozt, to an Apple Crumble Frappuccino, to the Honey Vanilla Vivanno. A few of the items that I’ve written about when they were in testing – such as the new receipe for the Frappuccino and the Trenta size cup – did eventually launch nationally. Just skim through the pages of the test products category and you’ll find some interesting things.
My understanding is that the Iced Peach Tea test comes to an end on April 30, 2012, and after that, these same stores will be testing the Pink Lime Frozt. I should note that the Pink Lime Frozt has been through several rounds of testing! I tried an early version of it in July 2011. From what I know, the Pink Lime Frozt had a few different variations in testing at the time that I tried it, and its recipe has been through a few tweaks. Hopefully the new version will be good!
Here are the rest of the photos. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

As a tea drinker I love this post and the pics. I would enjoy seeing these displays at my local SB and only wish that SB would expand on their tea promotions.
I loved seeing these at the test stores i visited for the iced peach tea lemonade (better with black than green IMO) – they should promote their nice teas more! i found it interesting they were promoting tea and not the test product. hopefully when i fly out of AUS next month i can try a frozt
That’s a lot of retail display for tea. (I immediately thought of you @Amazonv when I saw this post). I’m looking forward to this drink going national. Hopefully, Starbucks will learn things from this test that they can use nationally as their tea focus has been lacking. (I was happy to see the return of the Chai concentrate in my local stores).
Nice seeing the Tazo brand. They phased it out here for Starbucks Loose Tea.
Enjoyed this post (us coffee addicts can enjoy tea too 😉 ). Great informative displays.
Patiently waiting for peach.
I can’t help but see great irony in the attractive Tazo packaging and display and the generic look of Starbucks coffee packaging and display.
Love the tea displays and I would love to have the peach tea drink available nationwide. I drink a lot of black tea lemonades during the summer and I like Tazo Awake black tea to drink hot some evenings when I am in the mood.
Starbucks should offer more tea promotions as I think they would be successful.
I remember when they did the coffee tasting passport and you came in once a week and tasted certain blends and got a sticker and at the end of the promotion they gave you a free 1 lb. bag of coffee beans. I wish they would start a promo with their teas.
@PatrickMooney – Wait. Did they just re-brand the Tazo tea as Starbucks? I vaguely recall that a partner in Germany said that is what is done overseas. As I recall, you’re in Ireland? I think your tea is still a Tazo tea just labeled as a generic Starbucks tea. ??
My home Starbucks here in Dallas has both Frozts in testing (pink lime and a coconut lime) but never had the Tazo peach tea trial 🙁
